Why this obsession with labels? So long as the attraction is between consenting adults and does no damage to anyone else who cares?
Druvius replies on Jan 8, 2021:
Apparently a lot of people see a couple .... and have concerns that they have the "right" genitals to be a couple. The same people also go into public bathrooms with fears that someone in a stall has the "wrong" genitals. So I don't think it's about labels, I think too many people are obsessed with other people's genitals.

barjoe comments on Oct 17, 2020:
Treated to REDUCE radioactivity? Are they releasing information on the exact levels?
Druvius replies on Oct 17, 2020:
Yes, minuscule amounts of Tritium, the least dangerous radionuclide there is. Calling water with some Tritium in it nuclear waste is like calling fingernail clippings medical waste. IE it's semantically accurate, but is misleading by accident or design. It's actually the safest thing to do with it, it essentially vanishes in the ocean it becomes so diluted. If this water spills on land and was all concentrated in a tiny little patch of groundwater, then there's a well, minuscule risk. Tritium is only a beta emitter (the radiation it releases won't pass through a piece of paper,) so it's harmless outside of the body. And it's hydrogen, which has a very short half life in the body, it's in and out of the body in days.

Most countries knew by the end of January that Covid-19 was a game changer and required a concerted national effort to control. Trump and his followers still haven't grasped that, and the US is paying a terrible price as a result.

Interesting but utterly irrelevant, though the Rush "It's only a cold" Limbaugh morons will no doubt run with it. How Much It Sucked to Be a Medieval Serf - YouTube
Druvius comments on Sep 4, 2020:
As a student of history, this is kind of a caricature. Serfdom was terrible, but society depended on their labor so there were some constraints. Druvius comments on Aug 31, 2020:
Well, if they study history they know that the Nazis are far right, nothing even remotely liberal about them at all. And it's Trump urging his far right supporters to protest in Democratic cities. So the OP is claiming Trump is a Nazi I guess.

@Trajan61 Stocks are a measure of how well the wealthy are doing, they tell us nothing about the economy. And thanks for demonstrating that name calling is the first and last refuge of those who can't construct a logical argument.

@Trajan61 Huh? Because a few protests are happening is not some vast breakdown of law and order. I have lots of friends in Portland, everything is just fine, the protests are limited to a few square blocks. trumps claim that things are out of control is just another of his many lies. It's not like he can run on his record with an economy in free fall and Covid-19 raging out of control, so fearmongering is all he has left. Vote Biden, he may be a corporatist SOB, but he'll at least fight a disease that's killing a thousand or more Americans a day.

Druvius comments on Aug 26, 2020:
One of our last best hopes to stave off global warming, so it's a good thing. Coal burning power kills more people every day than every nuclear accident in history, produces staggering amounts of toxic waste, and is a major contributer to global warming.
Druvius replies on Aug 26, 2020:
@barjoe Modern plants are going to be vastly safer than the older stuff. Chernobyl was a antique time bomb even at the time and they knew it, they just lacked the political will to fix it. There's lots of other things needed to get our power grids into the 21st century, but for on demand power nuclear is vastly preferable to burning fossil fuels for same. Granted doesn't look like the US is going to modernize its power infrastructure any time soon.

@SCal None of the "doctors" involved have had any experience treating Covid-19 patients, none of them even were doctors working in that field, some of them were no longer even licensed to practice medicine. The crap they were promoting has been soundly rejected by virtually the entire medical establishment? Also the idea that millions of medical people are hiding a cure for Covid-19 makes zero sense, why would they let their patients, families, friends, themselves die if there was a cure? It's patent nonsense, even a few minutes on line you can find expert refutation of this nonsense. IE my opinion is based on the idea that mainstream science knows what it is doing, unlike quackery promoted by this video. Find me the peer reviewed science that backs this stupid shit up, I'll re-examine my opinion.
