Why was "La La Land" so popular?

Watching it again on HBO right now, because my friends told me I missed something. The singing and dancing still suck (they stare at their feet for FSM sake). The romance is between a pair of narcissists who abandon love to further their careers. The moral is that the old school jazz they play in elevators and sleazy nostalgic bars is as far as music should have ever progressed. I just don't get it.

What do you think of Groups, so far?

So, a couple weeks into the Groups experiment and I think it's been a great success. There are still some glitches but surprisingly few. I do find I am reading posts by a smaller number of people but I think this will correct itself as the groups get larger and have more contributions from different members. What do you think? Do you like them? Do you care?
