COLOR THEORY - A SAFE DISTANCE .
FearlessFly comments on Jul 16, 2020:
(from the YT page) Color Theory “Two” is the closing track from my 8th album, The Sound. Not only is it my favorite song from the album, but it may just be the longest Color Theory track ever. It started out as a collaboration with Swedish producer Johan Emmoth, who heard my music through my friend Viktor Ginner of Rupesh Cartel. He sent me an instrumental sketch to add vocals to. There wasn’t much extra space in the arrangement, but I did my best. When I collaborate, I intentionally write in a voice that’s very different from the “me” you’ve come to know. This was never meant to be a Color Theory song, but in the end it just didn’t fit in the mix, so Johan gave me permission to develop it on my own. Special thanks to Franco Girardi for creating the video.

Elton John. - Crocodile Rock [youtu.be]
FearlessFly comments on Jul 16, 2020:
Written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The song was inspired by John's discovery of leading Australian band Daddy Cool and their hit single "Eagle Rock". "Crocodile Rock" is dominated by a Farfisa organ, played by John. The lyrics take a nostalgic look at early rock 'n' roll, dating and youthful independence of that era. Elton John band members, including Davey Johnstone on guitars, Dee Murray on bass and Nigel Olsson on drums, were also performers on the song. Elton John, however, did all the vocals, including the falsetto backing vocals.

Produced by Matthew Herbert and shaped by the musician’s lifelong interest in anthropology, ethnomusicology, soundscape ecology and music, The Much Much How How and I is a unique genre-bending creation.

Your Wildest Dreams by The Moody Blues- [m.youtube.com]
FearlessFly comments on Jul 15, 2020:
Written by the band's lead singer, principal songwriter and lead guitarist Justin Hayward. The song was first released as a single, and later released on the Moody Blues' 1986 album The Other Side of Life. A blogger for ClassicHits 24.7 wrote his interpretation of the song: "The lyrics of "Your Wildest Dreams" tell the story of a man who is remembering his first love, and wonders if she remembers him the way he remembers her. Unlike a lot of 80's music videos, this one did not end well, and the star-crossed lovers remained apart with a very sad shot of the woman watches at her man [sic] is whisked away yet again by rock and roll."

Arctic Monkeys. - Do I Wanna Know? [youtu.be]
FearlessFly comments on Jul 14, 2020:
"Do I Wanna Know?" is a song by British indie rock band Arctic Monkeys. It was released as the second single from their fifth studio album, AM (2013), on 18 June 2013. It received a download release through iTunes as well as an accompanying music video. The video begins with a black background and simple visuals of white sound waves (similar to the AM cover art) that vibrate in synchronization, first with the percussion and lead guitar, then with the lead singer, Alex Turner. As the band enters with the chorus, colored sound waves illustrate new voices. Simple sound waves then give way to fast-moving, representational line-drawing animations that morph between a variety of female, race car, race car engine, and road racing images. At one point, the undulating white line becomes the "trucker's Mudflap girl", seen in the single's cover art. The line drawings are interrupted several times with flashes of full-color animation, several that recall the surrealistic style of Robert Crumb.

"Space Lord" is a 1998 single by the psychedelic rock band Monster Magnet, from the album Powertrip. It brought them mainstream success, with its accompanying music video directed by Joseph Kahn. The line, "Space lord, motherfucker," was truncated and an echo added to make the song more radio- and TV-friendly (the lyric is heard as "Space lord, mother, mother"), but the vocal rhythm is unchanged, and a band version with the original lyric has never been released. The original lyric can be heard uncensored on the "Intergalactic 7 Remix" on international releases of the aforementioned Greatest Hits album and also on the unofficial Boys Noize "Monster Bootnet" remix.

Puscifer-Potions [youtu.be]
FearlessFly comments on Jul 12, 2020:
from : https://www.nin.wiki/Potions "Potions" is a song by Puscifer that features written credits to Trent Reznor, serving speculation that the track may be an unused Tapeworm song. Only one version of the song exists, that being the Deliverance Mix found on the Puscifer EP C Is for (Please Insert Sophomoric Genitalia Reference HERE). On Puscifer's website, Maynard James Keenan made a post explaining the song's origin Ok. Let's use an APC album as an example. eMOTIVe. APC did a song called "Imagine." If you view the credits for the song you'll find various bits of info. Generally speaking the writers name appears in parenthesis next to the track. The performer info may or may not be listed in the album credits. If you see performer info it may be broken down to instruments. For example... "Billy Howerdel - Guitars and Back-up Vocals. Josh Freese - Drums and percussion, etc... Or it may be a given that the people who performed on this project/album/track are the band in question. So it will just say "B Howerdel - guitars, Josh Freese - drums, M J Keenan - vocals, etc... But Writing credits are different. Next to "Imagine" you'll see the name John Lennon. Because he wrote the song. You may want to sit down for the next bit. Ready? John Lennon didn't perform or sing or play on the APC version of "Imagine." He didn't produce it, direct it, co-produce it, or grab us Latte's during the recording of it. Why? Because he's dead. he just wrote it. And we performed a version of it. If you visit the Project Credits of this site now, you'll start to see what we mean.

Desperado I've lived like this for 9 years, still counting, and.
FearlessFly comments on Jul 12, 2020:
The track was written by Glenn Frey and Don Henley and appeared on the 1973 album Desperado as well as numerous compilation albums. According to Henley, Desperado was based on a song he started in 1968, written in the style of old songs by Stephen Foster. The song was originally about a friend named Leo and began with "Leo, my God, why don't you come to your senses..." In 1972, after they had recorded their first album Eagles in London, Glenn Frey and Henley decided that they should write songs together. In their first songwriting session after returning from London, Henley played Frey the unfinished version of the song, and said: "When I play it and sing it, I think of Ray Charles and Stephen Foster. It's really a Southern Gothic thing, but we can easily make it more Western." According to Henley, Frey "leapt right on it – filled in the blanks and brought structure", and the song became "Desperado". Henley added: "And that was the beginning of our songwriting partnership ... that's when we became a team."

"Downtown" is a song composed by Tony Hatch which, as recorded by Petula Clark in 1964, became an international hit. In the autumn of 1964 Hatch made his first visit to New York City, spending three days there in search of material from music publishers for the artists he was producing. He recalled, "I was staying at a hotel on Central Park and I wandered down to Broadway and to Times Square and, naively, I thought I was downtown. . . . I loved the whole atmosphere there and the [music] came to me very, very quickly". He was standing on the corner of 48th Street waiting for the traffic lights to change, looking towards Times Square when "the melody first came to me, just as the neon signs went on."

Amy Winehouse has been singing in my head Will you still love me tomorrow? [youtu.be]
FearlessFly comments on Jul 11, 2020:
"Will You Love Me Tomorrow", sometimes known as "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", is a song written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. It was originally recorded in 1960 by the Shirelles. Amy Winehouse recorded a cover of the song in 2004 for the soundtrack to Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, and a further version that was released in 2011 on her posthumous album Lioness: Hidden Treasures.

Happy birthday Andrew Bird Tiny Desk Concert on NPR [youtu.be]
FearlessFly comments on Jul 11, 2020:
(from thecurrent.org) For this performance of three new songs, Bird came with a stripped-down acoustic band: just drums, upright bass and acoustic guitar, with Bird himself on violin. It functioned something like a hot jazz ensemble, with no effects pedals; just the songs, front and center, sounding perfect. Are You Serious is available now. (iTunes) (Amazon) Set List "Are You Serious" "Roma Fade" "Capsized"
I went on a bit of a rant in a Facebook post.
