Fernapple comments on Nov 27, 2022:
I am not wrong because I am quite certain that I don't know, and freely admit it, how can honesty be wrong ? And if there is a god, how do you know that which of the innumerable presented and contradictory versions are correct , if any ? And if there is a god, and you want to play Pascals Wager, then how do you know that it does not prefer atheists and agnostics ? It seems probable that if you want he/she/it to be pleased with you, and it cares. Then being a member of the one group which does not tell it what to do, does not claim to have special knowledge of it, does not claim fake authority in its name, or to speak on its behalf, would probably be the best bet. Appreciate creation may be perhaps the most reliable way to please it, whatever its intentions. While if there is no "It", then showing appreciation for material nature, is the best thing we have, in that case as well.

Given the almost total lack of valid evidence from that region in the first century CE, anything is possible. ( And that is assuming, that the listed events did occur in the first century. ) Though certainly, given that, at that time the eastern Mediterranean, was almost completely under the sway of the popular and admired Greek culture. Which saw homosexuality as a respected part of male culture and intellectual life. Then it is quite possible that Jesus and his followers, were probably one of many groups of men, including some Jews, who were following the fashion of the time by being, to a degree, openly gay, in order to show their commitment to modernity.

The Word ‘Homosexual’ Is in the Bible by Mistake: The Explosive Documentary That Is Under Attack
Fernapple comments on Nov 8, 2022:
Quoting directly from my King James, printed nineteen thirty, first published sixteen eleven. Leviticus 20:13 " If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death." Guess what. Homosexual, as a word, is a modern one, and they probably did not have a word for it at many periods in the past, that is why they had to describe it. Even if one passage in the bible is a modern mistranslation, it is very unlikely that all of them are. Clear proof of just how dishonest you have to be to support religion.

Fernapple comments on Nov 1, 2022:
I agree that the expectant mother should always have the veto. But given that, I fail to see the point of involving the others at all, since their involvement would affect nothing. Indeed, there are only weak reasons for even informing them, and lots of good reasons for allowing the mother to keep her expectancy secret, if she wishes. The only time that the mothers wishes should perhaps be in any way made secondary to anyone else's, is perhaps in the case of mothers, with health, and mental health issues, who are to some degree dependent on others for care. But the issues in those cases would be many and extremely complex, and I don't see such complex issues ever being debated well and intelligently, in primitive countries and cultures, who can not even debate issues of fetus life at all, in an intelligent way, or even without invoking the opinions of preliterate and prescience tribes, who have been lost for thousands of years, if they ever existed.

So we started watching to see if she could prove her case, and soon after sister Mary said that you could tell also tell a surgically enhanced penis as well, because they did not look natural. So we started looking a lot just to gather evidence and prove them wrong, and that is how we ran up all those hundreds of hours on the bishops account. Though he did say that he did not mind, because he was interested in medical matters too."

I'm going to discuss being dead for a moment.
Fernapple comments on Oct 27, 2022:
I am sorry to disagree, but I do not think that there is any such thing as death, or any such state as being dead. There is merely life, and when that life ends there is no life, that is all. Human culture invents many words for things that do not exist, ( Not just dragons and gods. ) in part because of misunderstanding the limited and fudged information our senses send us. Such as dark for example. There is no such thing as dark, only a absence of light, but our senses show us blackness to indicate the absence of light, so our cultures imagine that light must have an opposite, and we name it dark. Likewise cold is not the opposite of heat, but merely its absence, though our senses have evolved to make us avoid places where there is little heat. Because that makes our heat dissipate too fast and that is dangerous to us. So our cultures label our senses instruction with the name "cold", even though heat does not have an opposite. So it is that life does not have an opposite, merely an absence. We label the absence of life "death" as in part also as a convenient short cut, since it it shorter than saying. "Absence of life and the dissipation of our information content by entropy." But we should not confuse terminology with truth.
