Common foods that could secretly contain insect fragments- [rd.
Fernapple comments on Jul 28, 2020:
Rodent hairs are also found in most foods, for the same reason. Remember the old rule, peel it or cook it, never eat salad and never eat anything that someone else has prepared. Meh, a bad attack of the runs is a better way to go than most.

Of course, why would an organization which built its wealth by exploiting the weak and vulnerable, creating poverty across half the world in order to enrich itself. Then refuse a hand out from a wealthy nation as well.
“Poverty is the parent of revolution and crime”..............Aristotle.
Fernapple comments on Jul 28, 2020:
Crime perhaps, but sadly I think that you need starvation for revolution. Humans, poor dumb brutes that they are, will endure a lot before they stand up for themselves. As long as the farmer puts just enough swill in the trough to stop starvation, they will sit silent in their cage, even while their brothers and sisters are dragged off for slaughter.
What are your feelings about cologne?
Fernapple comments on Jul 28, 2020:
Don't really like it. Though it has its uses, they tell me that if you are close enough, and down wind enough, to smell someones cologne, you are close enough to catch covid, so its a good warning sign. And why does clothes wash have to be scented. You go into the store and are offered. "Fresh floral scent", or "Contains Lavender Oil", and the next one on the shelf is Citrus, what is wrong with just wanting my clothes washed and smelling of nothing!!!
Bloody summer in Mojacar.
Fernapple comments on Jul 27, 2020:
We are all bored and unable to work, its getting to be a club with a lot of members. I don't know why people rush to the Med in summer either, I always go south in winter and early spring to escape the cold to somewhere warm. Why go somewhere roasting hot when its nice where you are and then sit and shiver all winter, I can't understand it either. And if you do go to the Med in late winter early spring, thats the best season for wildlife and plant growth after the winter rains, there are fewer crowds, and the natives are relaxed with more time. Humans stuck unthinking in cultural conventions, perhaps, you take your hols in summer because that's what your great grandparents did.

Much safer too to kiss someones anus than their mouth, think about that next time someone puckers up.

Being free, means being free of given meaning as well as restraints. You have therefore now to find your own meaning for life, if you want one. Other people have found it I know, in things like education, work goals, charity, making a contribution, helping others on the same route, artistic expression, etc. the list is well known. The thing is, I think, to decide what is truly important to you and keep that at the front of your life.

Fernapple comments on Jul 25, 2020:
Maybe they are just redefining terms. UFO, Unidentified Flying Object, is a term which should really never have had anything to do with aliens, and should have remained just a technical term in aviation, saying just what it says on the tin. Then you don't have to do a double think if someone asks you if you believe in UFO's.

Fernapple comments on Jul 25, 2020:
For some frozen things, I just put some butter, oil or fat on top, to stop them drying out, then pop them in and leave for a bit longer. It works well, they can thaw during the heating time, and leaving longer makes sure they cook through, the only problem would be drying out/burning on the outside, but the fat/oil stops that.

You are under no moral obligation to share your unbelief with anyone. It need be no more than your own private mater, and there is no need to feel you are being dishonest in any way by not telling people about it. Most of the people in most of the churches, probably do not believe, but they are not in many cases being honest with the one person who they do have an obligation to tell, which is themselves, you are over that. If religion is not true, then there is no personal harm in going through the motions, a none existent god is not going to look into your heart and punish you for your lack of faith, only a real one could do that, and no one else has that right to play god by asking you what is in your heart.

I really wonder if "god" always meant what it meant today.
Fernapple comments on Jul 21, 2020:
Yes there are quite complex theological debates about this, especially about the original Hebrew meaning of the word, which had similar origins to the Spanish. If you are interested they are fairly easy to research on the web. But I do not think you learn anything of value from it about religion, only about language and how it evolves and get altered over time. So much of religion may well be caused by mistranslation, bad memories and copying. Imagine that someone once told a story, about how a man and his family survived a flood by building a boat. And how they were wise enough to put a couple each of all their 'domestic' animals in as well. There would not be many, perhaps just a couple of goats and two sheep, not even perhaps in those days chickens. Then what happens if one night a story teller forgets to put in the word domestic ? Perfume, scent, essence and spirit, also have a similar complex and ramified linkage in their origins. Don't forget for example that spirit has at least three meanings, soul, vigour and the intoxicating part of drink. Which was of course the original meaning of biblical 'wine' both the natural, and the sacramental type. While many people think that the Islamic ban on alcohol may be a mistake, and that the ban on 'wine' may only have originally been intended only for Christian sacramental wine. Many saints bodies were said to give off sweet perfume when they died, because your scent was literally once believed to be part of the soul, therefore most dead bodies smell of sin, therefore bad, while saints smell good, and the fact that you smell at all proves there is a soul.

It is possible that time goes round in a loop, and you live the same life over and over, it is possible that we don't really exist, because the universe and ourselves are just an illusion made by a program running on someones computer. But of course they the have to explain, how a perfect god changed his mind, why Jesus said that he came to complete what came before and how he could believe in that god, plus why the perfect holy church, infused with the spirit of Jesus chose to keep the old testament for two thousand year. Oh and not to mention the bloodshed in revelations.

What people say should not be judged by the quality of the words alone, a love poem by Lord Byron may be beautifully written, but could it ever mater as much, or try to express as much, to you as your mothers last comical birthday card she sent you before she died ?

There is another factor at work on those who gain power, especially political power, and that is fear. Since it is hard for those who gain power not to abuse it, even by accident. And they then find themselves in the position of riding the tiger; they can not get off, for fear of having to answer for what they have done, or having it undone by a reaction. While increasing irrational fear of falling or being thrown off, drives them to abuse the tiger even more, which in turn makes them more fearful, and so on.

My girlfriend keeps telling me I am always putting it in my mouth, so yes. But it is strange because she uses the singular, but they both look about the same size to me.
Potatoes make a beautiful flowers but doesn't help with their production.

A lot of edible plants were first grown, at least in Europe, as flowers, such as French Climbing Beans for example. While potatoes were first introduced as a cure for the plague, (did not work).
How about.

There are some reasonable but not great ones on Youtube, like Atheist Experience and Talking Heathen, but nothing great. Having said that, you could also say that it is hard to motivate people to sell a none idea, than a positive one. You may be able to sell snow in Antarctica, but lets shovel up all the snow and get rid of it ?
