These sort of posts are usually greeted here with a tsunami of modesty, (often fake PC modesty ). But I ask you to think on this and tell it to your religious friends if needed. Most people are born into a religion, therefore most sceptics have left a religion, and the reason for doing so is, usually, lack of evidence. But the 'motivation' for taking such a large and often difficult step, is most often moral feelings. Therefore there is a clear case for claiming that in most cases sceptics have finer and stronger moral instincts, because of the clear action they have taken.

Yes I agree with Wangobango3 the rotating barrels may work well, but if not then you would be better with any sort of bin, the bigger the better. The more vollume you can pile up the better it works, especially if you can keep it loose and moist but not wet, turning is almost magically good and pleasant exersize for the body too.

You have to remember that if you read posts and comments here on this site, then it is atheists and agnostics talking to one another, most of the posts and comments here are not intended for the religious. Having said that what you say is perfectly true, and well understood by the churches. That is why many of them send out members to do missionary work and try to find converts, especially to do missionary work in the most annoying ways possible, because that way they are bound to meet with hostility and abuse from the public. Which reinforces the view, that the church is the only source of friendship and comfort, and thereby helps to deepen indoctrination.

But sadly, even I, often end up browsing the main forum, simply because, the site is not quite big enough ( hopefully yet ) to support a lot of the specialist groups at a good and highly active level. A lot of the people who come newly to this site are looking for help, or to vent, and have just started on their journey into the secular world. And secondly, religion does a lot of harm in the world, it is therefore a moral duty, like it or not, for those who have escaped it and believe in a humanist morality, it to at least lend some support and effort to opposing it.

At the most basic level, yes, I think that I do know the difference. However at a deeper level, I am not sure that anyone does, since there are no hard boundaries between them, there are large overlaps, and different people define them differently, often using very subjective judgments and values to reach their definitions. Even in the most extreme cases, there are no hard edges. For example; many would say that, Stalinist Russia was as Communist as you can get, yet they pursued some very racist policies, usually regarded as a feature of Fascism. While many Fascist governments, even Nazi Germany for example, believed in creating full employment by government spending, fairly socialist. While the leader A. H. was a former speaker for the Communist party. Viewed from a distance the extreme political wings often look very different, but when you start looking close they often start to look very alike. Someone once said that the political spectrum is not a line, but a circle. The one defining feature however that all the 'isms' have in common, except perhaps for democratic-socialism, is that they are all, in one way or another anti democratic.
