Understanding, education and focus on what you are doing in the moment (you are less likely to have an accident). This is for people with limited access to healthcare. A head injury needs time to heal and that is not something visible or necessarily adequately experienced! In this ‘harddriving’ society it is not taken as seriously as it should be. Allowing (and helping) people to struggle through with emotional issues developes one part of the brain and learning complex information helps develop more brain capacity. Exercise helps brain functioning, maybe more than people realize! Inflammation and tumors on the brain, must be treated medically. Not much the lay person can do there! The brain is far more complex than I can explain, but these are the things that I have learned about my brain.

Ofcourse you were knocked for loop, most people would be (maybe all). Suicide leaves people feeling like they should have done something...been able to help somehow. If we had known the whole truth, we would have talked them out of such a drastic decision. If only...That will have to remain an unanswered question, because the answer went with that person, friend, relative or in my case an art teacher. If only they understood how much they were valued! Grief must be worked through, it changes us and we can come out on the other side, eventually. I am so sorry your friend is gone! I know it hurts! Be kind to yourself while you get your ‘bearings’ back.

Unless, she was deliberately taking that position to impress or trying to imply (she really believes)that women are being discriminated against. Then another possibility was her prior education! My granddaughter homeschooled her children until the oldest child would be graduating at a high school level. Only, she never completed the senior level and my daughter discovered that my great-granddaughter does not have adequate math skills! My granddaughter did allow her other three children to attend public school (thank heavens, she is an evangelical Christian). My great-granddaughter got an inadequate education, thank heavens she is a bright determined young lady.

My dad was illiterate, he could not read or write. If he thought something was bad or wrong, he physically struck out. When I was about 9yrs old, my dad just seem to reject me at that point. I picked-up the idea that it was because I had become smart. It remained this way, and when i was 15, I ran away and got married. Over the next few years, he would come to visit and try to befriend me and I would just recoil. Then when I was 27, he was killed by another man in an argument as they worked for the DOT. I realized that I was hurt by his rejection but, my mother had poisoned my mind against him as well. And, I never got to make amends...because he had tried to befriend me. This started my depression and it was years before I got some understanding and acceptance...on not allowing myself to know who my dad really was! At one time I thought I was special to my dad and when that appeared to change, I put him at a distance emotionally. It left a gaping scar...that I had to learn to live with!
