You may be making a broad assumption...I once believed certain things, that now I would consider stupid or ignorant! Just by living we do take in more information that alters previous ideas! Me... I worked at it, on purpose! But, I do remember being exposed to more rational ideas and feeling that I was getting myself exposed to ‘strange’ ways and ideas (and I felt out of place)! Some people never push past this ‘being exposed’ to very different ideas place, they just keep reinforcing their same ideas...with altered ways of presentation! Bottom line...everyone is not at the same place in their development process, some will change and others will ‘dig-in’ deeper! I can relate to your post...and one of my own... ‘you always act like that,’ over some disagreement with family!

Part of my journey to agnosticism/atheism involved leaving my family behind.

I am so sad, to hear of your experience. I can report that it is only marginally better in my family and no one was adopted! When we leave (especially The Christian) religion behind, you can expect to spend some time in the ‘wilderness,’ where it is lonely and not much is happening! We must hold onto our truth and allow others, their’s! Work to be happy, that is your most important job. I found being my own authentic person, gave me a ‘real’ life! At least I can relate back to society, from honesty!

Trump has lived in his own narrow world...he appears to know little about his own country...much less diplomacy and other skills needed to interact with society! I always knew he was limited...but, the exposure of just how limited he truely is...is beyond what I can come to terms with...because, he sits in the ‘seat’ of the (once) most powerful nation in the world!

That about sums it up...if it were any other person on earth, we would just refuse to see this person, with our own eyes! But this ‘dead beat’ President is all over creation...in our face, on our TV, in our nightmares and even has a birthday...like who cares! My bet even his supporters, could care less about his birthday...they only seemed focused on joining trump in putting down others in our society, that they fear or believe are less (a worthy person), than they are!
