I did not read article, but finding love may have a lot to do with social conditioning! We are fed this romantic...out of this world love that is going to hit us like a lightening bolt and give us unimaginable pleasure and happiness! And, somewhere we get a whiff of that 'smoke bomb' and off we go...blinded by the smoke, until it disapates and we find our selves with another human being and with the same frame of mind, before the intoxication (wanting more high)! What happened to the uphoria? Now that 'love' is just mundane, with a few 'sparks' here and there! And, on top of that...comes even more work if you stay with that love! Maybe this is why relationships are temporary or fleeting?

You sure have a heavy challenge ahead of you! If you really love this person, I would suggest that you get help for yourself, first! You need to be at your best, to deal with this delima even if you must leave the relationship! Long range stress surrounding your financial security, will truely break you down! So you need to know if your husband will get help or save himself, alone (with your support)! Your husband has a disorder and you did not cause it! He must get to the root of the problem and I would hope show some willingness to do that, otherwise 'he will bring down the house,' both literally and figureatively!

I feel that I have the same intelligent capacity that I have always had and half of my 78 years were spent in the Christian religions. I do see that I may have become wiser, because I have paid attention and applied myself to books and other study! I can see where I would have a restricted view point, if I had kept myself bound inside a religion! They just keep studying the same old things (over and over) that starts out in their scriptures! They memorize certain scripure verses to use to defend themselves with! They stress the parts that scare the hell out a person, instead of what it takes to improve your character by word and deed! People seem so conflicted between good and evil, they can't live a fully human life!

Academic historians, hopefully will try and report the facts based with reasonable/logical assertions. But, they are not the only authors that write...including historical accounts! A person can write from a twisted mind, sometimes as well as the academic mind. Bill O'Reilly, and "Killing Lincoln' comes to mind! I have not read his book, but it was slammed by academia! And, because I have witnessed how his mind works, I do not trust his judgement and further suspect his motives for writing the book in the first place! So I would be sceptical about what is written and by whom! I fear for people in the future, that picks up a book based on the current history...it could be slanted, depending on how creditable the author is!

Is this before or after the missionaries had contaminated them? When someone uses any "teaching" to improve their character, wouldn't that be a good thing? But, when any teaching hinders the natural growth of a person's nature, that would be considered harmful. When a person relies on any one resource for all "truth," how will that support that person to his highest nature? When we cannot make decisions without consulting our pastor, or the prevailing sacred scriptures, maybe we relinquished our power and authority over to others? What if 'they' cannot know all the extenuating circumstances, surrounding a specific problem? And, yet the religious, believe a problem must be solved within the context of their particular religion. Maybe the problem could be more easily solved, if a person has availed him/herself of other knowledge and experience along with their religious teachings. But, religious people seemed to limit themselves to the way their religion has always taught and believed! This is the problem for me. Life is ever evolving, that 'good old time religion' is out of date for me! I can't rely on some 'great man being' up in the sky! I am not dyslexic, but one of my sons is. And before I knew about it about the second grade, I would try to help him with reading and he could hardly read at all. I would become exasperated and tell him, that he just wasn't trying and give up trying to help. The next year, it was diagnosed and he was given special training which helped him a lot, but reading has always been a challenge, he has told me. He is now 55 and I can tell you...my ignorance and attitude toward my son, hurts me deeply everytime I must bring it to mind, as in your post! The truth may set you free, but the scar remains for a lifetime. Dyslexic is just one of those brain challenges...mine was depression!

I would just let her be! There is a good possibility that...at least in her mind, she really does feel/think there is some 'unseen presence' with her. It could be an imaginary energy and she is calling it angels! Some people need something inside/outside them selves that they feel is supporting them. I myself... feel there is an 'energy' that supports all life, I just don't have a name for it, but I completely believe it is there! I would be a little hesitant about 1 hrs drive from city or town. If this is to be your long term work...you would be too isolated without a partner. Even partners, need more people in their life! For a short time, it might work, but not long term. If you were 25-30 mins from a town, that might work, but you need people around you to interact with on a regular basis. Best of luck.

Sarahroo29...that sounds very possible. One of my sons is dyslexic. It has nothing to do with intellengence, but a brain to eye problem. I don't know where to find it now, but somewhere on the Web, they show exactly what a dyslexic person sees as they read (or write). The letters jump around and the dyslexic must focus to nail them down. It is for sure a challenge, but don't allow that to color your participation in anything! Tell people if you must!

Get up and do some serious excerise, preferably everyday and if you are only doing it a few minutes at a time...then excerise more than once each day! If you miss a day, then get back at the next day...don't argue with yourself, just get up and do it! Because...if you don't want, what little 'get-up-go' that you still have at this moment to ATROPHY ...you better FORCE yourself...when all else fails! I should add that I have a friend, that was married to an Autistic guy, who passed, a couple of years ago. She has two early 30s, sons...one married last year and the other one is still single. So, just keep looking and find ways to be happy while you are searching, for 'that' person. Good luck! My friend was a special ed teacher and just published a book, on Autism! You must keep working toward your goal, even when it is hard and disappointing. That is what my friend, would say, too! (PS: both sons are Autisic!)

From my personal experience, I would say so. I have not known a lot of people who got married at 15, but it was a bad idea, even though I ran away and lied about my age. A 15 year old still needs their parents and a 19 year old male is hardly prepared to be a father to a 15 yr old, girl! The marriage lasted 17 years, and did allow me to escape a dismal home life. But, here late in my life, I seem to be more emotionally balanced, than my peers or family members (at least the ones that are still in this world). Maybe, I could have accomplished more with higher education? At least, I believe in...the value that I am contributing to life now.

I don't consider the Bible, history in the literal, sense. To many unveriable voices. It is the story of "man's" search for meaning and a God. Just an account of a time period and stories handed down from one generation to the next thru oral stories. Even in modern history, you will get different accounting on the same historical event from different people. I would not say they lie, but they will have different perspectives. Even different people who write biographies on the same person, show different angles of that person. And now, in this new 'fake news,' era...I would be sceptical of a lot of modern historical writers, because I can't trust that they are reporting facts, or slanting the truth to promote some personal agenda or bias. I think it is fashionable now, to spout embellished narratives...I am more sceptical than ever and it has caused me to wonder about all the historical reportings in the past? Did those people slant events and issues around their personal biases and how does one sort that out?

Well, part of depression is just the human condition. We are living longer and things change in our brain and our bodies. One thing, that does help depression, is excerise and sunlight. Maintaining a schedule and good diet, is important. And, in certain situations of chronic depression, medication may be necessary. But, the one thing that I found to help most with my years of depression, is excerise. I went to fitness ctr, 3 times a week and worked on muscle building and within, a few months of starting my excerise program, I observed a shift in my brain function. I am walking at least 40mins and doing stair excerise now and I still have have no depression.

I had another thought...you may feel very vulnerable over this situation, like you lost control and could not change it or go back...if so, just know that there will be lots of situations, that will be out of your control and all that you can do is, 'take the bull by the horns'...and try and solve the problem to the best of your ability! I surely want to tackle this problem with you. I have 5 children...all 54-62. Now, you have every right to be crushed! Having to struggle for money is no picnic, I have done that most of my life, too! You must mend your disappointed heart and get back to being a father. But, you must remember your child is still just that...he is not a wise person yet! If he has indeed lied, it seems that you and your ex, need to figure out a reasonable punishment for those actions, something suitable to his age. And then, treat your son with all the love and respect that you can muster. Don't lay on your son the burden of his guilt, for a long period of time! This will not help him to be more forthcoming in the future. If your son is old enough, you might report(calmly) to him, what it cost you, when he failed to tell the truth. After that, Praise him, when he does the right thing and show him, in many different ways that you love him. You may need to enlist the help from a counselor, because your child may be going thru more than you know about. What ever you do, you must get your own equallibrium back, because your child may start to believe that his own father does not love him and worse that he does not deserve to be loved. No child should think he is not worthy of his own father's love. I have had lots of these kinds of things happen with my children over the years and I had 5 of them! And, I can say it was always hard to gather myself up and do what is right for my child, but I managed to do it.(not perfectly)...parenting is hard work, but the work must be done, because we cannot go back and do it over, if we fail! I surely feel for you...good luck.

I mainly wanted to welcome you here...your concern is not something that I have experienced, even with friends. Now, over time one partner grew into a different belief, but no one sprung it on their partner, suddenly! You know your wife better than anyone, so I think that you will need to start informing her in increments...or just sit down with her and explain, how you feel and what you believe. Hopefully, you can reassure her, that she is free to believe what she wants to, regardless.

I have been part of a Wiccan group and it envolved rituals, but no one in that group was into magic. It shows homage to nature, in all things! Maybe other groups have different experiences? That is the only one that I know about!

It is far better, to eat mostly foods that you enjoy, from the fruits and vegetables, then small amts of meats. The most important part...even then is volume. Large servings of any foods, will not keep weight off (unless you are rare person, with revived-up metabolism). Plus, your stomach will be stretched, needing bigger portions! If your portions are kept small (within reason), your stomach will adjust and you will not experience the same hunger as when you stomach is larger.

The best thing is to change your sweet cravings, to be only fruit, sprinkled with nuts. This is much more healthy. Over time, you want even care for sugar sweets. A little yogurt added is good, too.
