Things will get better. I have to confess, I went through 3 divorces and none of them was a piece of cake and I chose to leave all of them! After that, I decided that I simply did not know how to choose a partner, and so I sorta gave up! And that worked much better for me. I have close male friends now, and I surely understand men better! Maybe there will be another partnership and maybe not! But at least I am a happy person. But, you are probably still hurting, as it does take time to "get our legs back.' Just know that the hurt will heal and you will build something new, and that is the way it should be. Best of luck.

Yes, everytime a school shooting tragedy, happens, I feel sick and helpless! (I usually feel sick for all the shoot-ups). I think I feel so angry that I feel sick! It is the people that we vote into our government that is supposed to help us come up with a solution to this killing problem! But, we get nothing! It does not seem to matter that these beautiful young people and their teachers, are shot to hell! If it isn't one of our politician's child...it is to far off, to matter! Well... It matters everytime a child is shot to death, I feel the pain of those parents! I have beautiful children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and my friends and my comminity has beautiful young people! But, no! The NRA, and the gun manufacturers, don't care! Our elected officials need their money to keep their office, so lots of dead people here and there...is just collateral damage in the course of everyday business! We have become a social order that cares little about dead people until it happens to one of them...and then it is too late! Yes, America is sick with something...as it is no longer bothered by it's 'shot up' dead citizens!

Having close first hand experience with a friend who was determined to find a partner after her husband passed...this is what i noted! It appears to me, state things in your profile that you just cannot get passed (ie, no trump supporters, this was a no, for her) and then it was all in the number of people that she thought sounded interesting to her. And, before it was over, she met 100s of guys (some were just for coffee, etc), before she ended the search, she found fun people to date and then came to the realization, she wasn't ready for marriage yet! She is still dating some of those guys and having a great time! So that is one story...

I do not think that I would present your rebuttal, like an argument! I would PLANT your ideas with logic and reason. Yes, leave her to choose, But, as she discusses issues with you, ask her about the things that you know, that may not work with religious teachings. Let it be a natural progression, even if you are fearful on the inside! Don't allow your fears to override your reason. It is hard to hear these people...but in retrospect, I wish I had allowed myself to examine...if what someone said about how to raise children made good sense. I thought I knew what was best for my children, but I found out in their future selves...they were short changed! And they have let me know it too! Well, hopefully you will get E-V-E-N older! It is a shock to wake up one morning and realize that you are on another phase of your life. One that looks and seems different somehow, but you still seem to be the same person on the inside. If you want to keep abreast of things, you simply must reinvent yourself...something is out of kilter and does not fit you, now! I have done this several times and it can hurt to shed the old skin and put on another one! But each new skin fits so much better than the previous one...that you have no regrets about the work that it took to grow your newest skin!

I understand the company that I am in here! Yes, I did have similar experience, over my whole life, I waffled between hoping my mother would be brought to account...and spending many awaking moment hoping she wouldn't go to jail! It was a kind of living nighmare, while she was alive! She died a few years back at 84 and I have developed my equallibrium, and i can live a much different life now. But, I miss my mother or I miss the mother that I wanted her to be! What I always considered a curse, has turned into a kind of blessing, though! No one would put themselves into my kind of situation in order to learn how it all works and that is what would be needed to figure ot all out! It is all good, now... still have 76 yr old sister, that has a story for another time...

But, back to the money...if I bartered for a living I would be just as happy! I have always lived within my means...when there wasn't much, I lived with little! It has been my experience, that I feel more secure since I left the Christian Religion. There is an energy in this Universe, that supports life and it is open to everyone, who 'knows' it. It isn't jealous, punishing or even handing out 'treats!' It just is. And, it may even go on forever, as far as we know! Just changing in forms! In that case, we too...will go on forever...I am not worried about what form, my evaporative energy, will take after my body stops functioning! Even if i see energy as living on forever...I am only concerned with using my presence in the 'here and now,' for it's best use!

How can I promote human dignity and the freedom to worship at the alter of reason and logic? Will my small efforts to protect the human condition, just be in vain? Have I done all that i can...to promote a safe and respected place for everyone, within this social order? And, then what about the dehumanizing conditions in other parts of this world? It all depends on what you mean by success? If you are looking for a mate, it appears there has been success for some people. I have had success at meeting some very interesting people and having fun, too! I call that sucess! You should just stay and see what happens!

Well, I consider myself an expert on depression, as I spent at least 25 years in therapy for it! First off, you are making a 'bad character' judgement on something that is a brain disorder! It does have emotional components, because this is how our nervous system developed, at certain ages in our childhood and even that is connected to our brain! So, ask yourself, if you would be so judgemental, if you had diabetes? To start, you must give your body the support it needs... walking every day for 30-45 mins and get at least that much or more of sunshine. Weight training was excellent for me, as well! Get a good night's rest and eat mostly vegetables and fruits, some of which should be uncooked. And my thoughts about your statement of...'I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.' fits most people with depression! Because depression robs us of our value. When the depression is under control, we can take our talents and skills and put them to good use. When the depression is in full swing, we can't even remember if we ever had skills and talents. AND, there may be a few people around us, trying to remind us of what we have! But, it feels like 'water off a duck's back', we can't hear them! That is the NATURE of depression. Depression, is not OUR nature. Depression is a brain/nervous system condition that we must learn to cope with! Same as diabetes! If you need a therapist to help sort out your issues, don't hesitate! Depression is treatable, medication might even be recommended. This is not a character flaw and you need to 'know' the difference!
