(This just happened to be the way I was put together, not some off hand way a person takes in information.) Plus some other opinions...your facts are based on what other people believe they see as part of a problem. Statistics are numbers based on a certain number of people, but they are never 100%...nothing is 100%. We just differ here...I need to see things happening in real time, not some ‘pie in the sky,’ idea based in imagination or a few examples! I stand in my own truth as to what I have observed. @Robecology ‘Enough’ and ‘access of enough,’ are not the same. ‘Enough’ means that we are safe, comfortable and not hungry! ‘Excess of enough,’ means measures are being taken to overcompensate (wasted resources) because a person does not feel safe! ‘Comfortable’ is where a person is fine with good toilet paper...instead of utra-soft that has to be specially manufactured using more resources! lol I had a friend who had this fetish, so I can speak on it! lol (I can’t come up with others now.) And, about the hunger part...a lot of people are eating far more than they ever need...which causes health issues that would not otherwise be a problem! This overeating...requires more food production, that we could do without! Now, it is possible there is some other problem with all the current obesity? Something is out of kilter when a person is almost as wide as they are tall (this was a young women in the waiting room, when I recently went for physical therapy). I surmise that most people are not happy much less fulfilled, and they are gobbling up more resources than they need for good living!

@Healthydoc70 How can we explain humans who lived for thousands of years under limited conditions, and never had all the modern conveniences we have today? They used only what they needed, nobody needed to lay up profits for the next 50 yrs for their personal use! Sure most did not have a long life, but the life that they lived must have meant something! I suggest that it isn’t that there isn’t enough...it is the greed of these modern times! Even waste is exaggerated by carelessness, and a lot of it could be reused for a good purpose! But, we need instant stuff...it is no longer enough that we have devised ways to preserve food stuff, that will allow us to get through longer periods of lack or droughts, we need to store up ‘stuff,’ and lots of money! Otherwise, our future will be bleak and uncomfortable. There is always a ‘lack of,’ working in the background of... so much of the human psyche. Even when people have millions in the bank in their old years, they worry that there want be enough! This is a ‘state of mind ‘ not an actual physical deprivation! (This had to began early in life.) Why does a person need a 4,000 sq ft house in his old age? Should people be held up in their buildings all day, in old age? I see too much protection (buildings and wealth) spent toward unuseable comfort in old age! We need a community with people and lots of nature for ‘comfort’ not fancy buildings and lots of money stored up! But, that is the illusion instilled early in life...which soon takes over the person! There are so many bankruptcies where people who were trying to acquire too much wealth too fast...went too far and lost everything! This in the end takes up more resources than one person will ever need to be comfortable and happy for the whole of his life! I argue it is not the resources, but human beings, who cannot believe that they can figure out how to survive in the future, without stockpiling past what is prudent. Teach every person what it is...to put aside for emergencies, that’s a good start!

If this is the predominant reason...why did my mother (born 1919) develop traits (equal to trump), along with some other family members of that era of relatives (Back woods poor). Why has the son (born 1955) of a doctor, who spent his growing up years in boarding school and now has gone off the rails, into complete conspiracy theorist? Two of my 5 children think trump is doing a great job and is simply not being given proper credit for ALL he gets done! If there was time and space I could come up with a long list of people (I have observed up close and personal) with mental conditions that I believe supersede their worry over not having enough sustenance! If a handful of people have enough wealth to feed and clothe most of the world’s population, then why would we focus on the lack of the other 85%...that there is not enough for the rest of them? I would argue that there is enough...it’s the excess that there isn’t enough of! There are many people like me, who only wanted food, shelter, healthcare and clothing to cover me! I never wanted the fantasy things or wealth! I never needed the pampering...feeling comfortable was sufficient. But I did need to be part of a community, making some kind of contribution to it. I realize that in this social order there will never be equal...but there sure ‘hell’ could be more accommodation for those who have no desire to seek wealth, to insure that they have an allowable spot among the living!
