When this happens, we feel the need to defend...that part of us that is being attack. But, it is coming from our subconscious and has not been examined to see if this is a real attack or coming from a previously laid down fear of harm to us. We see this in ‘knee jerk’ reactions, when a person mis-perceives an insult or attack! (A person is not reading the current situation correctly.) People are killed under these circumstances. @JeffMesser I try and speak of what I know from my experience and study. If you are attempting to prove that Indians and Hinduism is superior, i believe you are on the wrong path! I believe that every culture has its brilliant people as a matter of fact my last Psychiatrist was Indian. And I fell in lock step with her. On a side note, she was building a retirement home back in India, but, upon returning she decided she could not live where there was more corruption than here in the states (her report not mine).
This same person told me about one of her friends who came from India with nothing and became a multimillionaire, and yet refused to offer health insurance to her motel staff! (She owned many.)
There are things that I believe that are very useful from your culture, the same as from other cultures. Some of the people are fine human beings, but like everywhere else there are people from your culture who do not care! I can’t speak for others here, but I take what makes good sense to me wherever I find it and that which promotes mankind to a higher calling and I ignore the rest! At least here in this Country we are not FORCED to believe something. On another side note...a couple of years ago, I was moving and had collected a large number of ceramic floor tiles and was going to donate them, as I had to remove them in a hurry because the new owners to my condo had moved in already! I was staying in a motel own by Indians and they were in the process of repairing a room of broken tiles. I mentioned that I had these tiles and could they use them and they said sure. I hauled 2 loads of those tiles, from a distance of 20 miles away, loaded them up myself (78 yrs old) and that younger Indian couple never offered me even a cup of coffee, much less a small discount for my weeks lodging!
I study every experience that comes across my path...actually I have done that my entire life! So when you are speaking about who/what is superior, know that others have knowledge that may be unknown to you. And...yet none of that is superior to anyone else! We do know that there are ‘gifted’ people and they elicit our deepest respect, but they too are not ‘superior!’ You can take this with a grain of salt...or however!

And the worst started in my 30s although I was just coping in my 20s, it took work, but I wanted ‘a life’...and that underlying motivation kept me struggling forward...even when it appeared to me that I would never get better! I must confess here, that I have had real struggles to overcome with my own 5 children. I caused them real hurt out of my brokenness, and they needed to heal too! But, we are on a level playing field now and it all seems fine!

Detach...you don’t need them (and you may love them), but you don’t need them! I am reminded of my own struggle with anxiety and a completely worthless self worth (for years I kept this feeling of flinging myself off a bridge)...and I must report that it took time (years), but I found myself, and with hardly any outside support now, I am confident, happy 90% of the time! But, everything we want can be gotten in increments, nothing is gotten in one swift leap. First you define your dream, that comes from a nudging inside us. Then we do big and little things that centers around our desires. We can’t know all the ways that will help bring our dream to full reality, ahead of time. But sooner than later, our courage is such, that we take a big leap of faith toward what makes us happy...that which gives us something extra that we are missing! Live in each moment and gain all that is found there, but hold your dream and how it could work out, on your ‘back burner,’ simmering. It took me many years to follow my own dream of being in the West and mostly in the desert. And it did come about with long increments in between. And, even when I had my situation pretty much nailed down, I was faced with major resistance from many sides. But, by that time I was strong enough to know that others, would need to deal with my decision as best they could...I was not responsible for their loss or hurts! The best part is, everything is really better than before...and everyone may have discovered the same as I...that people can love and be close to others, at a long distance! Dependence or neediness is not love...that is born out of fear. Fear of loss, I would say. So don’t give up your dreams...just head in their direction and the rest will work out as you go!😍
