I am going to put my two cents worth in here...it might help who knows, it is meant that way anyway. The reason I am venturing into this is because ‘suffering’...is suffering’ regardless of what it is over! So I hope to shed a little light for that reason. Suffering distracts us from ‘living’ fully, so when we can get a handle on it, life is better. Nothing is perfect, but it can be better. Even in my early days, I never felt sexually attracted to just any man. In fact it was an insult somehow if I got pressure to have sex with someone, just for the sake of having sex! I am not a receptacle for the male organ. For me something is lost when that is all I am needed for. ‘Real sexual union’ has so much more in it than copulation, it is a connection of two hearts with appreciation for ‘the other.’ (We go to the gym to work off our frustration.) I have been this way my whole life and although I have not polled my women friends, I have taken into account their bits and pieces told to me of their sex lives and none have been far different than my own. The very few that got caught up in short term sex...soon found it unsatisfying and stopped it. I have not been acquainted with sex workers, so I cannot speak on them. I find it hard to see how they can put ‘heart’ into so many different sexual partners, which I find is needed to get complete fulfillment! The kind that has lasting satisfaction...in our total life experience. The last thought that I will put out for anyone is...the sexual experience is a ‘creative part of our nature!’ The more we envolve ourselves in creativity, the less sex we seem to need! In fact sex can become almost obsolete and yet the person is sensual and alive. I am sorry that you have this challenge, and I do believe it is a stress for you. I wish that I could offer a ‘magic bullet’ that was your answer, but that will have to be found by you. Maybe something that I put here will be of some help. My best to you!

They have been said and cannot go back in the box, therefore I must deal with them, but to ‘defend’ them connotes to me they have validity. This will be your biggest hurdle of all. When there is a major break...you cannot go back, I have never known it to work and I have known a few, myself included. I know your hurt, and it is one of the worst! You will need to give yourself more time and in the meantime, put some new experiences into your life. Simple or complex, they will help you build a (good) different life. That does not mean that all the caring that you felt for your ex, will die...what will happen it takes on a different nature! At least I haven’t had that in the last few years! I have learned to take that holiday period with a ‘grain of salt!’ I might display some tiny reminder of the season and if I am invited to functions with family and friends, I just enjoy myself, without even thinking of why! If I have my family over, I am afraid it want be ‘tinsel and tree’ ...as I don’t do that! Maybe, I would think twice if I had small children!
