This is a hard one...you did not report how far back this happened, so I am assuming in was pretty recent. This takes time and each child that was with you will move out from the experience in their own time. One thing is to talk it out with each person who broaches the subject...it is far more useful to talk about the feelings surrounding the events than not say anything. And, the most important part, is to express your love for one another...that will go a long way in supporting each person. And, as for dreams...they are trying to help you(us), process your loss and put it in the proper place. You may never forget, but sooner than later, you will be able to remember without acute grief. But, I wonder if...all the hurt ever goes away. I find that I must live with a part of my grief...even as I attempt to keep the healing process moving forward. I am so sorry for your loss and your pain. Keep strong and know that your broken heart will mend...even if it will never be the same.

I have found all of this to be hard and embarrassing...and at the same time, I still feel like a real person and I can carry on! I want be struggling with the admonition, that I should have said what I really was thinking and feeling! Don’t put so much pressure on yourself, to be everything that you ‘ought’ to be in one moment in time! It is ok to tell friends and family when you are not up to par and that...you will need to get back to them later! To my knowledge I have never lost a friend when I had to do this...(when I wasn’t physically ill), I just couldn’t interact at certain times! I didn’t have a ‘good’ grip on myself! And, sometimes there are ‘ups and downs,’ because we are irritated by certain traits or ideas from that other person! One of my friends that i feel especially close to...was really difficult at times over many years and yet we are very close! Whatever is happening at your end, has to be the deciding factor. Just keep in mind...that fear of something want always mean that it is bad for us. And we sure want to learn the difference...in case we are faced with ‘real’ danger.
