I have not had an abundance of friends in my lifetime, and up until my 30s, I had only a an alcoholic husband and 5 children, and no friends. But, I wanted a ‘life,’ and I left that husband and learned about friendships and they made all the difference...as therapist usually only see patients once a week, at least back then. Be on the look out for someone to befriend. And it will take a few tries as people like me (maybe yourself), don’t fit with everyone. And, don’t stop with just one..3-4, is good (in my book) This does take time, friendships are ‘built,’ they are not automatic! I only have a few friends, but they listen when I am down and I certainly will do the same for them. Good luck!

I cannot sum up here, all my lonely, miserable years (and a lot of rejection from my 5 children). That is why I know that you deserve to find your joy, in your own way! @AlPastor my guess for what it is worth is...if a person has a problem being ‘attacked’ with another person’s thoughts, then that should be allowed as free speech! The ‘attacking,’ person must think that because he had that ‘thought,’ with you...then he should be able to use his ‘thoughts’ (like a weapon) to force you to change over to his side! That is my best guess...from my personal interaction. Discussing with logic and reasoning words, seems inadequate...and I would say that this just might apply to less intelligent people (I am sad to say).

We are civilized, therefore we don’t whip out our gun and kill people even the ones who have just done the damage...it must be brought before the people, they need to face the uglyness...we all need to heal and to kill the perpetrator, blocks some of the process that will help the loved ones to heal their ‘why. why!’ We all need to find the ‘why,’ if possible...so that we can prevent such a tragedy from happening again!

My peers were never racist either and a friend converted to Judaism, so I have not been exposed to people against Jews. I once worked for a Jewish man, who had this office Mgr, that was a volatile person (from any work place ever for me), and when I gave a notice to leave I told him how I could not work with such a person and all he said to me was...’but, she has never taken a dime out of the till.’ And I am sitting there before this 85 year old man, thinking how his people were slaughtered and all he could think about was money! I have put myself in harms way before, and I will always stand against degradation of any kind! Just like I needed that job, but not at the expense of my well-being!
