A quote from my past says...’an unexamined life is not worth living.’ When we choose or are forced into that part of our nature...it is scary, we have no idea what all lurks in all of our nature, after all we work hard to be acceptable before the world and to ourselves! But, what could be hidden in the deepest part of our nature...maybe something evil, we can’t know for sure until we have ‘searched ourselves.’ So I believe, a big part of this loneliness is a search for ourselves. But, as you are already doing, you must ‘work it out’...not deny it or try and block it out, with external distractions! This cannot give us insight into who we really are and what it means to be ‘us.’ This is just what I have found in my search to make a life. I hope this helps you a little.

I think our beliefs govern how we live our life, not dictate our every thought and action! If two partners can have a common purpose to support each person’s individualality that makes up that unit, then having different religious beliefs would not be the bargaining chip, that holds people together. Each person’s humanity would be the guiding force. This is hard to accomplish, if prior ground work has not been laid out! Your situation if far from uncommon in this present age...we can struggle with adult children who have developed completely different views about religion or lack there of! But, at least SHE is not in danger, so I will need to put my attention elsewhere, where there is bound to be problems! These people somehow, cannot see outside their tunnel vision...so we must out number them or their beliefs will be forced on us! But, what will happen when we force our beliefs on them? They seem not to understand that we stand for choice...let the individual decide...these people can decide to not have an abortion!
