Gatovicolo comments on Jan 6, 2018:
I disagree. Im 56, I’m not looking for a nurse, I’d rather not recapture my youth and I’m definitely not republican. But, crap, I live in Texas.
I stopped watching tv in 2011 after I couldn't afford it anymore.
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 6, 2018:
I could live without it but I don’t.
Do you ever lose an entire day?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 6, 2018:
I had a similar experience Thursday. I walked into the PIEMS office to sign my proof sheets and they told me that I could bring them back the following morning. I responded by saying, “it’s going to be Saturday. You must mean Monday!” They looked at me like I was insane. Sigh.
This sure is refreshing! I'm diggin this site!

No religion has a monopoly on moral or ethical posturing. Why do they think they do?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 6, 2018:
Because they have the definitive word of god.
Who here was never religious?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 6, 2018:
I’m one of those. I grew up in SLC, my father was a jack Mormon (atheist), my mom was a non practicing Congregationalist, but my fathers parents were very religious Mormons. My parents divorced when I was little and I was raised by my mother. She gave me the talk as well and even took me to a Jehovas Witness church at one point, but I was never interested. My aunts, uncles, and cousins were all very Mormon.
Did you let your children go to religious activities with their friends?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 6, 2018:
Yes. I encourage my daughter to think for herself.
Are people really this dumb?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
Unfortunately yes.

Your Thoughts
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
Religion in the service of greed.
Here is a "What If". Role reversal.
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
Women are vindictive and would never be able to respect a treaty. Frankly, people are people. I would like to think that the world would be a better place if women were in charge, but I know enough women to realize there’s really no difference. People are still cruel, self serving, self involved....
Badly describe your hobby.
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
I drive my neighbors crazy with electric guitar practice at 3AM.
THE AMERICAN IDENTITY.
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
My family left Scotland in the 1730s. I’m an American, or a Texan or a Utahn depending upon your perspective. I have German, French, Irish, austrian and English ancestors. I’m a mutt and I’m happy to be seen as one.
If you were having a marriage ceremony, is there a specific style that would influence you?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
I think I’d prefer a civic scene.
So guys..what do you like to do for dates? Besides getting laid lol. Bowling? Arcade center? Bars?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
Getting laid isn’t a date, but maybe the conclusion of one. Movies, dinner, dancing, strolling, concerts.....
Do you have to believe in God to be a fan of Satan?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
No. Satan is far more probable God. Satan is just a superior evil being. Unlikely, true. Unaporoachable as a concept, no.
Would you be willing to die for your beliefs?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
I believe in gravity, but I wouldn’t die for it. I might die as a result of it.
Is religion the prime source of anti-intellectualism?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
Anti-intellectualism is principally due to a lack of education.
How do you feel about people saying "I'm proud of my heritage", "I'm proud of being British", etc.
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 5, 2018:
It all depends upon the situation, but if you’re an American, you’re heritage is so broad that to be proud of it is questionable. If I was a second generation Iranian, then perhaps being proud of ferdowsi would make sense, but a family that’s been in the US since the mid 18th century, it seems silly. I’m Scottish by name only.
Are you "out" to all in your life in terms of your atheism, agnosticism?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I’m open about it, but I don’t walk around with an agnostic badge on. It’s a perspective, not a club.
How do you feel when the families of murder victims stand at the microphone in the sentencing phase ...
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I think that it’s better to get that kind of anger and hatred out of your psyche before it metastasizes into something more virulent. If religion is what you have to use, ok. If all you can do is wish the guy a speedy trip to hell, ok. Frankly, I wouldn’t want to see anyone executed. Not that they don’t deserve it, I just don’t want to subject myself to the horror of seeing someone killed. I’ll find another means of consolation.
With No God, Would It Still Be Possible To Have A Soul Mate?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
A soul mate is a person that compliments your personality. It’s more of a psychological mate ttan a spoil mate.
The "dad bod" was in for a while. Will someone let me know when the "grand dad bod" is in?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
Probably as soon as the grand ma bod is in.
Anyone ever get the feeling you're going to be forever alone?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I’ve been there, and I’ve felt that. I thought I’d found someone, and she turned out to be insane. I really had to wonder about my luck, but, what are you going to do? There’s only one life, and however we may want to believe we can make it alone, we all need one another. Keep on looking and be careful about who you choose and remember that they’re looking for the same thing too.
Do you serve a purpose or purposely serve?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I think I just act, though some of my actions have purposes.

Is modern dating any different from the definition of polyamory?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
That really all depends upon the people involved. I’m not interested in more than one woman at a time. Sometimes even one woman is too much.
I just had blood work done.
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I’m constantly wished a blessed day. I just smile and walk away.
Should nonbeliever groups have debates with religious people?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
Where’s the fun in not making fun of the religious?
In your experience, do you find that people are accepting or unaccepting of your non-belief?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I grew up in SLC, and it was an issue. Everyone I met wanted to know my religious affiliation. As soon as I moved to California, that changed. No one cared. I’ve lived in Texas for ten years and I have yet to be asked about my religious affiliation. No one seems to care, unless you’re on a dating site.
What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
The release of pent up reserves, ultimately, but also the desire to work.

Am I the only one that isn’t saddened by my life coming to a complete end after death?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
When I was young I thought I’d want to live forever, but the prospect of degrading over time isn’t very appealing. And some point there’s just no reason to go on. Everyone you know, everything you’ve believed in, your knowledge base just fades away or becomes irrelevant. I was born in the 1960s and I have no desire to be here in 2260s.
Here is another article that I found interesting.
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
Reagan had zero moral compass. This is the same guy who made deals with the Iranians to delay the return of the hostages in order to get political traction on Carter. And let’s not forget the Iran-Contra scandal. He did put the Soviets out of business, but put us in serious debt to the Japanese as a result. I find it funny the Republicans look back to Reagan as some sort of golden age. Let’s not also forget about his complicity with the House Committee On Un-American Activites. Can you say “informer”?
What is your moral compass?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I trust my gut. If it feels wrong, it probably is wrong.

It’s hard to say what the universe does on a cosmic scale. I guess we’ll see.
We are constantly debating the principle of a "religious liberty".
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 3, 2018:
The trump administration seems very unfriendly to Islam, but I see no bias towards Judaism, Jainism, Buddhism.... they do seem to want to force Christian values down to he throats of all Americans, though.
So atheist or agnostic men don't shave, huh?
Gatovicolo comments on Jan 3, 2018:
I used to shave, but I stopped after my wife filed for divorce. I just haven’t picked up the habit again.

Gatovicolo comments on Jan 2, 2018:
I think not, but you’re welcome to think as you please. The Mormons also think you can become a god. I think it’s farcical, personally, and akin to magical thinking. But I don’t know that’s the case, it’s just my opinion.

Acquire an ocean going tug, get a bunch of high caliber rifles, ammunition and move to a remote island in the aleutians and wait it out. Adak. It’s a former naval station. Plenty of empty buildings, pier facilities and fuel supply tanks.

I remember looking in the basement window of that house and seeing a sign rat if white amorphous figure walking about, but I was 8. I’ve never seen anything less Kevin hat since.

Why are most Christian churches so extremely segregated by race?
Gatovicolo comments on Dec 31, 2017:
History. Most black church goers can trace their roots back to the southern states. That sort of thing perpetuates itself. As for the Assyrian and Coptic, and Aksumite churches, they were cut off from mainstream Christianity by geography and Islam. It’s no real surprise. Most western Christians can trace the heritage of their faith back to the Roman Empire. It really became a European phenomenon.

Do you think that some atheists have the same blind devotion to science as they do to religion?
Gatovicolo comments on Dec 31, 2017:
Medicine is a business. And I’m skeptical whenever someone is trying to sell me something. I think science as a pursuit of knowledge is perfectly reasonable, but when you mix in business and politics, the value of the pursuit becomes diluted. There is plenty of evidence where the scientific results of drug trials have been either falsified or slighted in the favor of business concerns. Sorry, I’m kinda cynical.
Did you ever dream about something and it came to fruition?
