A couple of my friends became very sick from coccidioidomycosis (valley fever). Most people that gt it, never even know, but it can be serious. One friend came down with it after she left Arizona, the doctors in Texas were having trouble figuring it out, after they put her symptoms in the computer, they came back and asked her if she had been in Arizona. It didn't take long to figure it out then. When my wife got sick, they checked her for it, but unfortunatly it was much more serious.

GeorgeRocheleau comments on Nov 8, 2019:

But it is still a problem for me, It reminds me of my parents, who are gone, of my late wife and my good friends, The incessant calls from signs, stores and television to be happy, happy happy, while buying all sorts of crap I can't afford bothers and depresses me. And then there are the Christmas Carols. I am fortunate this year to have somebody to spend it with. This helps a ,lot.

Do you like it hot and spicy?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on May 2, 2020:
Years ago when I had a bumper crop of Habanero chillies (I counted 40) I made the following recepie, but I substituted Habaneros one to one for the jalapeno chilies. It was delicious. Jalapeno Jelly from Jane Butel’s book “Hotter Than Hell” Ingredients 3 large, very ripe red bell peppers, cored, seeded 6 to 8 jalapeno chiles, seeded (for a milder flavor, remove ribs too) 1½ cups cider vinegar (5% acidity) 6½ cups sugar 6 ounces bottled liquid pectin Using a food processor or food chopper, finely chop bell peppers and jalapenos (I did it by hand). Turn chopped peppers and chiles into a large saucepan, stir in vinegar and sugar and bring to a boil. Boil, uncovered, about 30 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened and peppers are clear. Remove thickened pepper mixture from heat; cool about 10 minutes. Stir in pectin, return to heat, bring to a boil and boil about 2 minutes longer (at sea level) or until jelly sheets off the edge of a large metal spoon held at right angles above pan. Remove from heat, skim off and discard foam (I didn’t see any foam to skim off) and immediately pour jelly equally into 5 or 6 hot, sterilized ½-pint jelly glasses (I filled jars half way each first, and then filled the completely next for even distribution of solids). Cool, then seal with paraffin and cover with lids (I skipped the paraffin and sealed jars immediately). Makes 2½ to 3 pints.

Covid-19 and HIV Vaccine
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Sep 23, 2020:
From Wikipedia: Classic vaccines mimic natural immunity against reinfection as seen in individuals recovered from infection; there are almost no recovered AIDS patients.[citation needed] Most vaccines protect against disease, not against infection; HIV infection may remain latent for long periods before causing AIDS. Most effective vaccines are whole-killed or live-attenuated organisms; killed HIV-1 does not retain antigenicity and the use of a live retrovirus vaccine raises safety issues.
