Are you good at small talk?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Feb 5, 2018:
Beginning conversation with somebody I don't know is awkward for me, and I don't feel comfortable in social situations with people I don't know. If I can establish some common interest, I seem to be able to hold my own, as long as it isn't too loud, because I have some hearing loss. This rules out most bars.
I got my dna tested to find out my ancestry.
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Feb 5, 2018:
I went to a talk from somebody who was an atheist Jew. He explained how being Jewish was much more than a religion, it was a culture with long established traditions that are separate from religion. While I had no problem understanding his point, some people were completely confused.
It says I should make a post. But, I'm new and I don't know what to say. So.....hi?

People say that Christmas is a depressing time of year; I think it's valentines. What do you think?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Feb 2, 2018:
When I am not seeing anyone, I find Valentine's pretty easy to ignore. It becomes more of an issue if I am seeing somebody and they have high expectations that I am not aware of.
Does everyone know their nationality, or are some of you unsure?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Feb 2, 2018:
My great grandparents were all from French Canada, all of my Grandparents were born in the US.

GeorgeRocheleau comments on Feb 2, 2018:
While there was one time where I am pretty sure it nipped a relationship in the bud, I can't see how it would have worked out anyway. I was only pursuing it in a half hearted way because I was lonely, and it is just as well it ended early.
Opinions, experience, thoughts wanted.
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Feb 1, 2018:

Went camping instead.
Are atheists in general, more intelligent than religious people?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 30, 2018:
While I tend to surround myself with intelligent atheists and agnostics, I can't use that as proof that atheists and agnostics are more intelligent. It is just as likely I am surrounding myself with people that think like I do.

How Important is Nudity?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 24, 2018:
Considering how excited everyone gets when a woman breastfeeds or takes her top off, you would think it was the end of civilization or some shit. For me whether you are nude or not is only important if cooking bacon or hiking through deep snow.

GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 23, 2018:
I don't wear a shirt that says "ATHEIST" on it but I make no secret of my lack of belief. This has cost me a few potential relationships, but they would never have been serious if it was going to be an issue.

Can one of you brilliant minds tell me how the percentage of the heart is determined on this site?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 22, 2018:
For example, you are showing 90%. I went to your profile and clicked on the heart and it displayed this: You're both the right gender for each other. JustLuAnn's education background is what you're looking for. Your education background is what JustLuAnn is looking for. You both consider yourselves Atheist You both are into Food, Love, Travel and Movies. You both are in typical age ranges for each other JustLuAnn lives too far away from you (974 miles) [0.9] I hope this helps.

Do You Believe The World Will End, Or We Face Global Extinction?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 21, 2018:
Sometime between 1 and 5 billion years from now the Sun will become hot enough to boil the oceans away into space and may expand to the point that the earth is consumed, so if nothing else, that will be the end of life on earth. But I also believe that technological societies are inherently unstable and have to potential to collapse catastrophically. Our society is presently living far beyond the long term carrying capacity of our planet and the coming collapse with leave the natural resources plundered to a level that will prevent us from ever rising again.
After life
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 20, 2018:

Is life meaningful without religion?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 18, 2018:

Nobody is ever fanatical about something that is not in doubt
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 18, 2018:
Except for flat earth.
Do you think atheists are actively seeking to destroy religion, as many religious people claim?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 18, 2018:
I always find it amusing when I hear about "The Great Atheist Conspiracy" (tm). Atheists, by their nature are leaderless and disorganized, and could barely agree on where to buy lunch, but we are systematically destroying religion. Yup, that's us.

GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 17, 2018:
knocking at my door for no reason? That would be the cable guy.
What about the other planets?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 17, 2018:
The bible does not consider life on other planets. When the myths that make up the bible were written down, planets were lights in the sky, not bodies of comparable size to our own world. The bible and most churches solidified their thinking hundreds of years ago, while serious discussions of life on other planets mostly happened in my lifetime.

What is the reason behind creating a Remake of an All Time Classic?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 16, 2018:
When both the possible rewards and the risks are great, there is a tendency to just do what has been done before. Then if it fails, you can always say "it worked last time". If you do something new and it fails, you may have to return to your previous career in the fast food industry. Movies are usually made with other people's money, it is easier to show the money people something from before and saying, "it is like this, but with more explosions." Now there is no law that says the remake has to suck, but unfortunately, that is usually the case.
Why are you labeling me?
GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 15, 2018:

GeorgeRocheleau comments on Jan 14, 2018:
I'm sure the celebration of Christmas was tied to the winter solstice. Solstice makes more sense to me, but I wouldn't mind if all the happy holiday horseshit went away and left me alone.
