I’m an agnostic with a strong moral compass and very liberal politics. I’ve made the mistake of marrying outside my political and philosophical beliefs and it doesn’t work. I grew up in a European home where political and religious debates were welcomed and civil albeit passionate. It’s a tall order here in the USA....and is discouraged. Secondly the pervasive hyper capitalism has given way to a “Every man for himself” mentality. I strongly believe it takes a village and community is important...I suppose this is why I fell into these relationships with Christian men only to enter into countless religious debates. I contend that a truly good person behaves morally because his nature compels him to...it’s the kind of world he wants to live in
