Think of a couple unrelated things and write a story. Don't worry about word count. Make a jar of writing prompts. This should get you back in the game.

Gohan comments on Feb 20, 2018:
In my opinion, if you have no access to anything about the person, yes, a little creepy. I prefer to engage in conversation before meeting someone from the internet. And if I do meet someone, it's always in a public place.
Theater vs home movie?
Gohan comments on Feb 20, 2018:
Depends on the theater and when. I like ones here, they have big comfy reclining chairs. I like to see movies about a month after release when the theater isn't packed. I also like to watch a movie at home too.

@Count -- Welcome to the group, my friend.
Gohan comments on Feb 20, 2018:
Thank you.
Weird?
Gohan comments on Feb 20, 2018:
I would politely tell someone with those beliefs that you beg to differ (if you're so inclined) and politely end the date. Swaying them is a waste of time, it's been deeply ingrained and usually would require a frontal lobotomy to get them to think otherwise (and I hear tell those are frowned upon.)
If man doesn't exist does the the universe exist?
Gohan comments on Feb 20, 2018:
Evidence suggests that it would exist and it will go on when our existence sees its end.
How do you deal with disappointment in life?
Gohan comments on Feb 20, 2018:
Disappointment is a part of life, I pick myself up, dust myself off, and learn from them. I also try not to have expectations, there's where disappointments are born.
Perspective
Gohan comments on Feb 20, 2018:

Men... bald is not a bad thing?
Gohan comments on Feb 19, 2018:
If I go bald, which it doesn't look like its happening, I will go with the flow. I've shaved my head for awhile and enjoyed it, air conditioning for the head. I've also grown my hair long and also enjoyed that, but here in Florida it isn't practical.

The obsession with weapons...
Gohan comments on Feb 17, 2018:
Weapons hold within them the power of life and death, to wield them gives the possessor power. Power intrudes on the possessor's mind and preoccupies it. Power is like any other mind altering substance, more must be obtained at any cost.
Science fiction or science fantasy?
Gohan comments on Feb 17, 2018:
I lean more toward hard Science Fiction. All my devices in my stories have some basis in reality. For more hard Science Fiction check out Alistair Reynolds or Arthur C. Clarke. For fantasy, pretty much anything with Star Wars in the title.

Welcome citizen.
A man cooking. Is it a turn off or turn on?
Gohan comments on Feb 17, 2018:
No. As a child I grew up with my father and brothers cooking. Later, I cook when I am lucky to have a girlfriend. I guess I see it as normal and that is picked up by my girlfriends, or I'm a crappy cook.

Are you forgetful or easily distracted?

Sad but accurate
Gohan comments on Feb 15, 2018:
Enough. It is time for our lawmakers to learn from those who have successfully reduced gun violence, therein lies the answer.
Do people of above average intelligence have a harder time finding a partner?
Gohan comments on Feb 15, 2018:
I can't speak for other people of above average intelligence, but in my experience, yes, it has been considerably difficult to find like minded individuals. I'm selective when it comes to finding a partner. I even struggle to find friends. I feel that the majority of people look down on those with higher intelligence and this makes it difficult to find a group or just one. I've caught myself trying to blend in to the normal crowd, sometimes with considerable awkwardness, which has the opposite effect.
Why do women have to basically spell it out for men in what they want? Why are they so clueless?

Should atheism be taught in schools?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
In social Studies the world's religions should be mentioned, because they're a part of this world's social makeup. Schools, save for religious schools should remain entirely secular. Teach the children Math, Music, Art, Sciences, Grammar, U.S History, World History, Social Studies, Critical Thinking, Home Economics, Wood Working, Mechanical Engineering, and electives that bridge the gap between HS and University.
What is your take on the 2 party system?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
I feel with proper education, something the current "representatives" fear, we can dispense with the representatives and their corporate driven corruption. We can then represent ourselves. We can make bills and laws to govern ourselves. Keep the Constitution and amend them appropriately to support the people as the true government of this country. I'm tired of the "Oh, they don't like my bill, let's just shutdown, nonsense. This is juvenile and unprofessional.
Where is your favorite place to vacation?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
In movie theaters or in books.
Believer Bashing?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:

Can an atheist be happy for the future
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
Can an atheist be happy for the future? yes. As a Science Fiction writer thinking about the future is my job. I feel that we as humans will get our collective heads out our asses and start working for the betterment of mankind and for Earth. In this dream humanity is fairly happy. As for the afterlife, I figure that I'll figure it out when I get there.
Okay single folks, how are you spending Valentine's day?

Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:

Standards
Gohan comments on Feb 12, 2018:
No. I have too much respect for women. I have to be attracted to or develop an attraction in order to have sex with someone.
What do you know that most others don’t?
Gohan comments on Feb 12, 2018:
I don't know. I know a great many things. Others may know and are pretending to not know, you know. These days, at least in my experience, knowledge makes you an outcast. I thirst for knowledge, because I've been taught that knowing is half the battle.
Do you feel guilty when you kill insects, rats, or any other lower animals in/around your house?
Gohan comments on Feb 12, 2018:

My love or their love?
Gohan comments on Feb 11, 2018:
Though unreciprocated love is hell. If you're loved by someone you have little if any love for, you can learn to love them. It may take time and a whole lot of frustration, but it's better than the alternative.
How many will be attending the 'Trump-Giving Day Militany Parade?'
Gohan comments on Feb 11, 2018:

Brain damage.
Am I still single because my face is that hideous?
Gohan comments on Feb 10, 2018:
At first sight of your picture "ugly" was not the word that came to mind. Beauty is not just the layers of skin we show to the world, it is what fires in our minds and breathe through our mouths and lands in the ears of others.
What makes people read.
Gohan comments on Feb 9, 2018:
A genetic predisposition for stories.
Why do I hate it when a man sexualize my insights/intelligence/etc?
Gohan comments on Feb 9, 2018:
Intelligence is sexy and is subjective to sexual orientation. There's a word for someone who has a fondness for intelligence, sapiophile. To those who aren't sexually oriented to one another the fondness is still present, but the sexual component is not present. I'm sorry if you hate the adulation. Attractiveness and understanding, love, and respect aren't always mutually exclusive.
Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know.
Gohan comments on Feb 9, 2018:
Intelligence can be a mixed blessing. It grants those who possess it an insight to the world and this has an impact on overall happiness. Those with it could see the paths that governmental representatives are taking, and this can have an adverse effect on happiness. Those of higher intelligence have a greater capacity for creativity, this could have a positive effect on happiness. Therefore happiness is subjective.
