Slightly different story - did you see the news the other day. I believe it was in Japan. A baby fell off a balcony, a man was getting out of his car which he had just parked - tried to catch the baby. The force knocked him flat! At least he blocked the fall.... both are ok.

And all of the things you wrote - but I do have a problem remembering to cut my roses, I like to walk by & smell the roses....

Oh my gosh! So sorry to hear this. I feel your pain (well sort of) - what seems a million years ago I was finishing up my last day of skiing for the year, caught an edge and was sent flying through the air. Broke the joint in my right thumb (yes, I am right handed) when my pole hit the ground while I was in the air. No big deal right? During those wonderful years I spent winters skiing in CO. & summers at the beach playing volleyball & scuba diving. Managed to drive home and play a few games of ball before my thumb was black & numb. Cast to my elbow 1/2 the summer and wasn't allowed to play ball at all that summer. I thought I was going to go crazy watching everyone else play and watching the boats go out in the morning....

And since I can't stop...

The year I left OK it was crazy like that. Red River flooding was insane and the dams breaching absolutely crazy. I lived near Lake Murray and got some crazy video of it rushing over the road - looked like Turner Falls instead of Lake Murray.

Yesterday, when I was on a cruise to islands near Sardegna, Italy, we landed on Santa Maria Island.

My mom got a Golden Retriever puppy in Aug of '98, my dad was fit to be tied. In July of 99 mom was diagnosed with cancer, she died in September. Foolish was my dad's reason for getting out of bed everyday. Now, he has a cat his current GF wanted.... and that kitty, Mars, worships my dad. Yes they do grow on those who fight against loving them. 😊❤

Why is it that grandparents are far more patient and tolerant of children that their parents?

Simply because when you (they) were parents they had all the worry/stress - am I making the right choices, money, am I going to be able to feed/house my children. Once you get to be the grandparent you know you survived all the above & so did your kids so you can sit back and enjoy the lives you created.
