Personally I feel there are so many variables. As others have stated - our current political climate has people reacting/over-reacting. 24/7 news shows have us seeing all the horrible things that are happening around the world (and yes, we could change the channel but it isn't like there are really a lot of choices). Then top that off with the stress of 'making a living' which includes the societal you gotta have/own/do this - oh wait & right now, it is that time of the year..... they gotta buy everything for everyone..... People are so busy being what they think they are suppose to be, they forget we are only here for a very short time. They forget to do those things which make them happy, the things that make them laugh. Including jokes. Me, I don't have that problem. Did you hear the one about the 50yo woman with 8 dogs? Crazy dog lady ?????

I believe it has more with being responsible than the weekly paycheck. If you are in a profession which is seasonal, a gig, freelance, etc but you plan for upcoming bills & even have an emergency fund set up that is one thing. If you are a a lazy bum, claim you are waiting for the next 'job' and just wanting to mooch off someone - I have zero time for you. As others have said - I can more than support myself and have no plans to support anyone else (been there, done that and will not do it again).
