Hello. My name is Jason and I'm new to Birmingham.
I play guitar and bass guitar for fun. I can actually play any instrument I put my hands on, except drums, but those are my main two. While I'm on the topic of music, I enjoy late 80's and 90's indie rock like Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco, Lucero, Modest Mouse, Josh Rouse, Drive By Truckers, Jason Isbell, ect. I also love Classic Rock, Folk, Bluegrass, and EDM/Trap. James Taylor is my fave! Ive seen him in concert 6 times. Jason Isbell is aslo a current favorite.
As far as hobbies go.....my main hobby is designing and building High-Fidelity audio systems for the automotive environment. I am a MECA (Mobile Electronics Competition Association) competitor in the SQL (Sound Quality League). I also design and build for home audio as well as home theater. I am a total DIYer. If I think I can do it myself, I am going to. I am an absolute car guy. If I didn't know any better I would swear that my heart pumped Mobil 1 high performance synthetic oil through Teflon coated veins and I had an engine management system for a brain. I love making stuff! Gardening, woodworking, metal working, composites, food.....the medium doesn't matter.....I just love to create! Oh, I have a thing for exotic wood also. Building custom computers is another area of interest. I'm not a gamer though.
Career wise, I spent my first 11 years in the workforce as a professional cook. By the word "cook" I don't mean McDonalds. I was trained by 3 of Americas Top 50 Chefs in classic French cuisine. I worked for some of the finest resturaunts in Nashville. In the past few years I've delved into traditional Italian food, although it makes me feel like a traitor. I am absolutely in love with food and have a natural understanding of how it works. When I was a kid I did not watch Looney Toons on Saturday morning like most children. Instead, I watched Julia Child and Jaques Pepin.
After college, I got into sales on accident and fell in love with it. I am an introvert by nature, however, I learned how to be an extrovert because of my job. I absolutely love helping my customers get a product that is going to enrich their lives at a competitive price AND get paid to do something I love. Making a nice commission is simply a byproduct of doing the right thing for the customer. I have spent many years in the automotive industry as an Internet Sales Manager. I have also done a little bit of freelance sales training so others can be successful in sales. I love training as much, if not more, than sales itself. I have also dabbled in day trading small capitol securities as a little side hustle. I would like to make that my full time hustle eventually. I also want to learn about real estate. I am a firm believer in having multiple streams of income.
I enjoy classic literature such as the Bronte sisters, Herman Melville, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Leo Tolstoy, James Joyce, Victor Hugo, Alexander Dumas, ect. I have a serious book fetish for dystopian literature. I've read all of the Orwell, Bradbury, and Huxley. If there is one you enjoy that I may not know about please tell me! I need more! I love words too, if you can't tell by know. Lol.
As far as my personality goes, I am an INFJ-S by nature. However, I have learned to be a ENFJ-A because of my job. Most of the time I am dripping with enthusiasm and charisma. There are also times when I need to crawl in a hole and be by myself or just me and my lady friend. The extrovert part of my personality did not develop until my late twenties when I got into sales.
Teaching others and passing along knowledge is one of the greatest things we can do in our lives. I hope to make a positive impact on the world during my short time here.
Holy crap!, I can't believe you read all of that! Congratulations for making it through all of my conjunctions and run on sentences. This section is titled "biography" and this is not Tinder. So I gave you all plenty of information about myself. If you are a young lady who is interested in talking to me and are waiting for me to message you, it's not gonna happen. It's just the introvert in me. I would really like to talk to someone though, I'm just not confident enough to make the first point of contact. Sorry. I really look forward to learning a lot from this community and engaging in meaningful conversations. Thanks for reading!
