Any financial expert will advise that rent/housing should be no more than 30% of your income and will tell you that 25% is preferable if you want to have any sort of life beyond paying bills and sleeping. Especially as Social Security and other programs are being eroded, if you want to save for retirement you need to add that to the equation. That $1400 depends on where you live and where you don't want to live. I have rented in my area, $1400 is on the low side. The only thing that is keeping minimum wage low is billionaires don't want to share. Minimum wage is a joke, Wages have not kept up with inflation which means the middle class is losing ground and getting poorer all the time.

@SeaGreenEyez The old joke in the Xian community is that the church pastor upset someone and so the congregation split. One of the new congregations had another dispute and split again. And again. That doesn't mean I stay asleep, but it is an improvement. But I'm also walking 5 miles a day and getting other exercise, I'm physically tired at bedtime. I keep baggies in my car with $5, a pair of tube sox, personal wipes in individual wraps, and a space blanket. The baggies are in a pouch behind the driver's seat. When I see someone with a sign on the side of the road I will hand them a baggie. Did you know that sox are the one thing that aren't usually donated to shelters. They have all other clothing, but not usually sox.

MissKathleen comments on Jan 28, 2019:
I have not. However, I have an opinion. Why do men assume that because it it “”over” for them, it is over for their partner? Few women actually have vaginal orgasms. Clittoral orgasms do not require a penus. Why is there a problem?
HippieChick58 replies on Jan 28, 2019:
@MissKathleen Even if you did "promise" something, there is nothing that says you can't change your mind. Even if you said yes, the moment you decide no all action is off. If you are no longer feeling comfortable or safe, or any other reason, you can say NO.

When I lived in Western Washington state we'd take our kids hiking in the mountains. They each had a fanny pack with a whistle, a mirror, a trash bag with a face area cut out, and a bottle of water. If they got lost they were to attach themselves to a tree. They could use the trashbag as a raincoat if needed. They were to blow on the whistle from time to time, and try to find the sun and reflect it off the mirror. We never got to test it out, we never lost a kid.

HippieChick58 replies on Jan 26, 2019:
@Xanadutoo And now that I have read his bio, where do you see he has an employer??? He says he travels for business, that is open to interpretation. You are ASSUMING he does not have time to date with all the travel he does. You have a very favorable view of this profile, I have a rather more reserved view. We don't know that either of us is wrong. You need to back off a bit, take a few breaths. I will too so don't get your shorts in a knot. We have not named him as a scammer, just that the potential exists. There are elements of his profile that create concern. The concern is a big one, really big. I'm not saying we burn him at the stake, no one here is. But he bears watching to protect the vulnerable users of this site. It takes time, and you just have to deal with uncertainty and suspense.

HippieChick58 replies on Jan 25, 2019:
Jared Kushner’s application for a top-secret clearance was rejected by two career White House security specialists after an FBI background check raised concerns about potential foreign influence on him – but their supervisor overruled the recommendation and approved the clearance, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News. The official, Carl Kline, is a former Pentagon employee who was installed as director of the personnel security office in the Executive Office of the President in May 2017. Kushner’s was one of at least 30 cases in which Kline overruled career security experts and approved a top-secret clearance for incoming Trump officials despite unfavorable information, the two sources said. They said the number of rejections that were overruled was unprecedented – it had happened only once in the three years preceding Kline’s arrival.
