About 8 years ago I made personal wipes. Essentially squares of flannel and diaper fabric about 7 inches square, hemmed on each side.I don't know how many I have, likely 50 or so. Use once and wash. I keep a basket under the sink to hold used wipes until I have enough for a load. I haven't purchased toilet paper in 8 years. I keep a paper roll in the guest bathroom, and with the number of guests I have, it may be another 3 years before I have to purchase more. I also use cloth instead of paper towels, and facial wipes. Seriously, one or two additional loads of laundry a month. I'm saving money and the planet. And more importantly I don't have to go to the damn store!

My heart cat used to sleep curled up against my chest. If I turned over I'd pick her up with me and never wake up. One of my former roommates/renter had a dog, and the first morning in the house the dog wanted to jump up on my bed, (I kept the door to the room open so the kitty could come and go as she needed). The roommate said I curled my body around the cat to keep the dog away, I don't remember waking up. The dog was a sweetie, but the cat was not used to her yet. I will always "allow" the pets on my bed, where I go they go.

When I was a church member I was so often amazed at how cruel judgmental "church people" could be, like the Westboro Baptist and the like. Even in the churches I belonged to there was that little group that if you deviated from their view of the right way you were immediately and irrevocably doomed to hellfire. I always wondered how they missed the memo that "gawd loves you as you are, yadda yadda yadda." There are too many xians that don't act like their imaginary leader. As for the workers in strip clubs, they're just trying to make ends meet like the rest of us. They usually have taken some knocks in life, and made bad decisions, but work is work. I make so much of my own stuff already, but I dislike hand sanitizer. My hands get dry enough with just soap and water, I can't imagine adding alcohol. I work in a hospital so hand sanitizer is everywhere, and I'm glad I don't have patient contact that I would need to use it.

LOL! Yes it made milk taste gross, too sweet. When milk is heated to make it powdered something in the process releases sugars. I don't remember anymore what that is. I used to feed it to my kids to be frugal, they didn't like it. Now I use it because I don't keep milk on hand. I buy milk when the kids and grands come to dinner, and then the remainder goes bad in my fridge.

I love my cats, but they are mostly for entertainment. My dog was trained to hand signals, voice commands, and he was the best every door bell. He was just so excited to have visitors! Training a dog to do tricks and respond to signals is lots of work, I was a SAHM and had the time, and needed a well behaved dog, he was big and I had small relatives that visited. You get the dog you work for and he was the son I never gave birth to. I don't have time for a dog now.

I joined the Army after HS graduation. While in the Army I got married (well twice actually, first one was soon divorced, the second lasted longer. ) Second husband stayed in while I got out. Children each born on different bases, different countries. I've moved 23 times and 6 years ago I ended up 50 miles from where I was born and 135 miles from where I grew up. The woman who moved to Omaha is very much not the girl that joined the Army.

My gut says anyone who brings that up right away isn't over the loss yet, and though I have greatest sympathy, I don't want to deal with someone processing that kind of grief. I mean it is a loss that you never get over, but as you get distance it moves from acute to chronic. I can deal with the chronic, but I don't want to deal with the acute at the beginning of a relationship.
