I'm not here to get points. I'm here because I love this community, I love the discussions that pop up, I love learning new stuff, and I love the give and take. I've been part of this community for almost 18 months. Yes, maybe I'd have finished more books if I spent less time on here, or made another quilt or two, but this site connects me to actual people. I consider it time well spent. The site is going to be what you make of it, I've seen plenty of people come and go, such is life. I don't remember when I achieved level 9, but I once calculated I'd hit level 10 about the time I retire. Once that happens I will still be here, posting and discussing to my heart's content, only possibly with more time to be here. Who knows, maybe Admin will add a level 11...

Not ridiculing, just curious.

I was lonelier when I was married than I am now living alone. I know I stayed too long in that relationship, but I didn't want to deprive my children of financial security. I have lived longer in my current city than I have lived anywhere in my life. I find making friends as an adult to be much more difficult than when I was younger. I have few close friends. I have great doubts that I will ever have another romantic relationship, and I do mourn that. However, at the same time I am OK with that, because I can't control anyone else, but I can control my reactions. I will not compromise, ever. That price is too steep.

On the one hand, with Medicare for all I may be out of a job, but on the other hand, I likely could really retire if I didn't have to pay for health insurance. I'd love to see health insurance companies go out of business, too often they are about the bottom line, not what is best for the patient.

I use tofu where I would have used meat. So IOW if I had a nice skillet full of veggies and sauce to pour over rice, add some of the tofu, cut into bite size cubes. I'd warm the tofu a bit with the mixture before pouring it over the rice. The tofu will take on the flavor of the sauce. You can cut all the tofu into those bite size chunks, and freeze what you don't use for a later date. I forgot to do that the last time I bought tofu. By the time I remembered the tofu, it was kinda icky.
