I have that voice that people think they can trust and they tell me all sorts of stuff. I become an immediate trusted friend. Makes me kinda batty at times. We all need someone safe in our lives to discuss our issues with. If we're lucky the person who talks to us will also be the person we can talk to. I have only had that with my sister and there are some things I just can't tell her. Once when I told my ex I was taking anti depressants he told me he didn't want to hear it because it made him depressed. Do you ever wonder how our grandparents and their grand parents made it through? In many cases they were too busy and too worn out by trying to keep alive, keep the kids fed, chores done, and the place repaired to think about their emotional life. I wonder if they weren't better off than we are now.

I can't remember ex's number but it is still in my phone. Occasionally we do need to talk. I haven't memorized a new number in ages, that is what speed dial is for. And I just realized I lied.... I have sorta kinda memorized the number for customer service that I work at. I give it when I am returning a call and go to voice mail. If you still need us give us a call at 402-... It is also posted on the wall right in front of me.

I get calls from the State Troopers Association and some others. I just hang up and then block the numbers. Generally, I don't give to any charity that calls me. When I have money to give I do some research and make my decisions that way.

I am so sorry for your losses. I lost my first baby at almost 6 months pregnant, she had neuraltube defects that precluded life after birth. When I was an xian it was comforting to think she was in heaven with my mom. That was a nice little fantasy. I still wonder, 36 years later what she would have been like.

I think I have done this without deliberately deciding to. This is how I raised my kids. I need calm, and positive feedback when I did something wrong. I needed love and guidance. My mom died when I was 14, my dad remarried 6 months later to the witch from hell, she was a seriously insecure, unkind, frightful woman. I tried to raise my kids as my mom raised me, not as my stepwitch tried to raise us. My kids tell me the have great memories of childhood and that I've usually been "there and present" for them. They're all seemingly well adjusted competent adults. I wasn't perfect as my oldest has pointed out to me, but they have flourished despite that.

My mom died in 1972, so that was 47 years ago. I don't think we ever don't miss our moms. The last 3 years have been more poignant, now I am a Grammy. She never got to know any of her grandchildren, she would have rocked it as a Grammy. While you miss your mom, try to remember the good times with her, and feel free to cry. 47 years later and I'm still crying.

I have few regrets, I learned some good lessons. I signed up because I was single, post divorce, and just did not know many single men my age, or indeed any single men close to my age. I may have a few regrets, spending too much time corresponding with men I suspected were scammers would be one. I think part of the reason it didn't work is that I am not willing to settle. I had one man who was very interested in me, but he didn't seem to catch on to the idea that I was not a Christian, I love to read, he hadn't read a book since high school, and he had kids involved with gangs. I also got the vibe he was really desperate for a quick commitment. I live in an very conservative area, I'm not conservative. Mostly through online dating I was able to figure out what I didn't want. I still haven't found what I want, but I'm not actively looking now. If it happens it happens. I'm getting the same results as I was when I was looking.
