Wow, but then again Obama had impressive credentials but he was black so most of the nation could not accept that. But again, Pete may be too smart for most of the nation to deal with.

I am very uneasy with this woman's story. There are pictures of her hugging several well known men, including Bill Clinton. The timing bothers me, why is she bringing this up now? It is a hard situation. We don't know the history they have had, or the context of the moment and the atmosphere of the office. Was there any power dynamics involved? I don't think Joe should run, so I'm not too worried about that, but is anyone safe from allegations like this if they have had a situation where they have given a friendly hug in the past that now can either misinterpreted or deliberately used against them. It is a can of worms for sure.
Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on a conversation with a stranger?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 6, 2019:
For reasons beyond my comprehension, strangers like to talk to me, and tell me stuff that I'd really rather not know. Some of my friends tell me it is because I have that soothing "mom" voice. I like to talk to people most of the time. I'm always open to a good conversation, but sometimes... boundaries get very blurred. Everyone has a story to tell, everyone knows something you don't. Self editing is good though.

I think being comfortable is an imperative. Whether to wear makeup/nails or not is very much a personal choice. Some women don't wear makeup because of skin sensitivity, and really good makeup can be awfully expensive. I used to do my hair nicely before I went to work, and I work customer service type jobs, so I use a headset. Second time I take the headset off my hair is in total disarray. Since I don't see anyone besides coworkers I usually don't do much to the hair besides let it do what it will. That being said, everyone has their quirks, if you can't get past the lack of attention to hair and nails you're both better off away from each other. I wouldn't let it bug you as much as a learning experience of what you're really looking for.
Remember this? I remember the "moo" sound it made as the doors opened.?

What are your thoughts on this issue?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 5, 2019:
Medical bills are the leading cause of bankruptcy in the US. Insurance companies are NOT going broke paying for your medical care. Every day we're telling people that there are deductibles and co pays and coinsurance that they have to pay, and sometimes it is a huge burden. I work in Customer Service for billing for a hospital for children. At least once a day we're sending out application packets for families to apply for financial aid for their medical costs, and they have to apply for Medicaid at the same time. It is NUTS that the US does not have some sort of universal care. AND even worse is Reagan's administration allowed hospitals to be run for profit. No one should be making an astronomical profit on your bad health. To me that is immoral The constitution guarantees life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Medical care is life. Can you tell that this is one of my soapbox moments?
Let's play.... What do you have? ?

I know we'd have threads before about dealbreakers in dating relationships.
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 5, 2019:
I think deal breakers are judgements, and in no way does that make them bad. We use judgement ALL THE TIME. Prehistoric persons had to decide if they could kill that brontosaurus or if they needed to run and hide. When we drive we're judging other drivers, how fast are they going, can I get through that intersection before they have a chance to broadside me. I use judgement before I leave the house in the morning, do I need my coat today? I know me better than anyone else. I know I will not be happy spending a great deal of time with someone whose core values are greatly different than mine. Your xian friend sounds like a typical religious hypocrite. It is OK for her to judge, but not for anyone to judge her. You threatened her righteousness, and therefore you're bad, so she shut you down. Good freaking riddance.
