It is tough sometimes. I work in disability claims and I've had a few claimants that were/are undergoing gender reassignment. Sometimes I have trouble figuring out which pronouns to use with them. And because of time pressure/high case loads/bad memory/habit I use the wrong one. Ya gotta cut people some slack, change is slow but it is coming.

What Type Of Personal Vehicle Is Your Preference And Why?
HippieChick58 comments on Jan 13, 2018:
I drive a Red 2007 Toyota Rav4. It was my downsizing car from being primary chauffeur in a Chrysler Mini Van after the kids started moving out. It was the last car we bought as a married couple, and we got it new. It has a sunroof. My plan is to drive this car until my children forcibly removed the keys from my withered arthritic hands. Yeah I'd kinda like something newer, smaller, and better gas mileage, but 1. It is paid for, 2.Sunroof, 3. It has on demand AWD, and I live in the snow belt. And 4. It is paid for. If my hips and knees were younger I'd get a Mazda Miata.

It comes down to this: People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. If you don't care and just want to bludgeon folks with your knowledge, just keep your silence. Doesn't cost you anything and it might earn you goodwill. If you care and can help, go forth. The five rules of speaking: Is it True, is it Helpful, is it Inspiring, is it Necessary, and is it Kind. You can be honest, but also need to be caring.

For women: how do you feel about your breasts?
HippieChick58 comments on Jan 12, 2018:
I always felt like I could have fed twins or triplets, I was a good milk producer. When I was pregnant I could stimulate my nipples to get contractions started. Didn't do any damn good, babies still came when they darn well pleased which was late. Other than that, boobs just get attention and get in my way. Gotta wear a bra, and I've worn a bra since I was 12. However, they're kind of attached to me, and I do what I need to for them. I don't do the boob smash as often as recommended, but I'm a nonconformist and non compliant that way.

HippieChick58 comments on Jan 11, 2018:
First, why is it necessary that they know? What difference will it make if they don't know? Will it make your life better? Will it make their lives better? Can this be divulged on a "need to know" basis? I believe in being honest and I'm very forthright, however I am also discrete. If they don't need to know why bother?

HippieChick58 comments on Jan 10, 2018:
I have always had cats. My last old cat died November 2016. I had some work done on my house starting in December, then my contractor/worker bee (also son in law) got distracted and completion was delayed. His wife (my daughter) had a baby. When the work was finally completed Feb. 2017 I got Xena. A couple of months ago I got a second cat that turned out to be uber cat aggressive. And then she scratched the grandbaby, so she had to go back. Saturday I brought home a new kitten. Although Xena is mostly pissed still, they can at least be within 2 feet of each other without blood. So I have Xena and Zelda. i have three human children, ages 33, 29, and 25, the youngest has a year old baby, and the oldest is expecting. We had a golden retriever when the children were younger, best dog ever. He was the son I will never give birth to.
