Wealth is only one measure and not a reliable one. I am far more interested in how they have lived their life, did they make a difference. I'm interested in if they are a good person, if they have a good relationship with their kids (if they have kids.) Finances don't matter very much. So many people got messed over by the mess in 2008ish, some have never recovered. So to shorten my musing, I'd date nearly anyone that is a decent person. Up/Down doesn't come into my thinking.

There are so many thing wrong with this situation. This child will likely never know it's mother. The biological father, if identified hopefully will go to prison, and even so at some point in time could get custody of the child. What an awful family tree. If medical science can cure the vegetative state this woman will have a child she didn't want and ties to a horrible person. If the rapist is identified he needs to be castrated at the very least.

Thank you for letting us know. When I weaned myself off Zoloft many years ago I had a similar reaction except for the trouble sleeping. I might have had trouble sleeping, I don't remember. I may have weaned off too fast. That made me very gunshy for adding any meds after that, though I was on a few medications when I was in the divorce process. When I weaned off I was very careful to go very slowly.

My daughter recently came out as gay.

Yes, it is hard when our adult kids uncouple. I have a former Son In Law that is a truly nice guy, they just married too young. He has gone on with his life as he should. Good for your daughter to find out who she really is, and hopefully she will find the right person for her, or not, and not rush into anything. And good for you for being a supportive dad.

I was married to a religious conservative for too many years. He was (operative word being was) one of the smartest guys I'd ever met, had great critical thinking skills. He was also a condescending dolt. I believe he chose to turn off his critical thinking skills to become more religious and more (so much more) Republican and conservative. It blows my mind now. Now I operate from the point of view of life is too damn short. I like to discuss politics, so if I am going to spend a great deal of time with someone, I don't want discord. I think Republicans/conservatives have sold their souls and sold out the country.

My late former father in law was a chemical engineer for Monsanto for his entire professional career. He saw what they were doing with animal feed and it concerned him. I think he would be disgusted by them now, he was pretty aggravated with them at the end of his career. They made him "retire" early, and then asked him to come back as a contractor. But he managed it well and they paid him very well, and that paid for my kids' college educations. However, I do not use any Monsanto products ever.

I am fasting today. I feasted tooooo much for the last few weeks with holidays and birthdays. So last night I finished my lunch from yesterday, and my next meal will be dinner tonight. Then I will be back to my normal eating plan. I have meditated today, and been to the gym. Also had a job interview, the first step in the process. I am making changes in my home to make it better fit my needs, I have finished sewing projects and other projects, I've tossed stuff I no longer want/need. I am healthier now than when I stopped working on Sept 7th, and I will continue to improve my health.
