I am way past bearing children, and my children are all independent adults. I have some pension funds that are tied into my ex husband's earnings because I was a stay at home mom for most of our marriage. Therefore, marrying would create a financial penalty for me. Unless future spouse is really really rich and really really demands marriage, nope not for me. Now for your questions re: minor children. The law is pretty good about child support if your name is on the birth certificate. The question of mom not working will need to be addressed by a lawyer and each state will have different rules. Property ownership will be the same way. Do you recall several years ago a Hollywood Palimony case? I don't remember the individuals, I just remember the term Palimony being kicked around. College for the children is never a given. I've known too many women left with little when the husband decided to take off, so marriage is no guarantee. EVER.

I met my ex husband before online dating was a thing, before the Internet was widespread. (I am THAT old.) We were both military members in Germany. There was a publication for the military members and families available at the Exchange (department store) and the Commisary (grocery store) called Shopper's BiWeekly News. It had personal ads in it. In a crazy moment I answered several, and one replied to me. We met, dated, fell in "love" got married, moved, I got out o the service, had kids, moved, moved, and divorced after 25+ years.

I have considered Ecuador, I've read lots about Cuenca, and I think it would be awesome. I have enough pension income now that I could qualify to move there, they have an income requirement. I am getting rid of the stuff I don't need or use so my kids won't have to get rid of it when/if I actually do die, or have to downsize. It is like losing weight, you just feel so much better! I am a fabric hoarder, and I had fabrics I don't remember buying. I had fabrics I bought for a projects that I don't want to do now. My kids came to dinner on Thursday, and I sent them home with nearly all my Xmas decorations from their childhood, and a few other things. I'm selling some stuff on eBay, and other stuff is going to local charities. Less is the new more.

What causes me anxiety. If I list it all I will be here all night and I have an event to attend. Causes of Anxiety: Attending events, even social events, especially if I have to eat in front of others. Finances - will I be able to retire above the poverty line before I drop dead at my desk (if I have a desk to drop dead at.) With the Republithugs playing with Social Security.... FML Job - currently unemployed, but working on it. And see finances as my savings evaporate Interviews: cause me to lose sleep the nights before. Will I be a good fit, what is my competition? My car - 12 years old, paid for, funny noises from the back end. I know I need a new car but see job and finances. House - I own my home and I need a new dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. See job and finances. Also still paying for the new HVAC and water heater. And I live in tornado alley, new roof in 2016. That doesn't mean I won't get hail damage again this spring. That is just the top layer of anxieties. I could list many more. However, I do have to admit since I started walking about 5 miles a day and meditating, the anxieties are not as loud.

Try meditation. I use an app called Calm. It has helped immensely. Also, Benadryl is not only an allergy medication, it is the main ingredient in Sominex. Two will put you out. Wine works for me. I also use a variety of teas, including Valerian and chamomile. Yogi teas makes a sleepy time tea, I just throw one of each of several varieties in a pot and let steep. And if you aren't exercising during the day, that will help also. I also try to read before I turn out the light, and I journal as part of my bedtime routine. And some nights nothing helps, but it is better than it was.
