Very apt and succinct.
Along with outdoors gardening, I have also enjoyed house plants.
HippieChick58 comments on Mar 2, 2019:
I loved having house plants. Then I moved into a house with only north or south facing windows, and the south windows are coated to deflect the sun. Then I got young cats. I now have 7 houseplants. 3 Sanseveria, one Swedish Ivy, and two Spider plant. It is a challenge to keep the kitties out of the dirt, the ivy and spider are up where they can't reach them.

Has Porn Become the Ultimate Passion Killer?
HippieChick58 comments on Mar 2, 2019:
The thing with BDSM, there has to be a great deal of trust before you can move in that direction. I like to get adventurous, but if that trust isn't there already, it isn't going to happen, and it can't be rushed. And yes, porn is so readily available it has warped the expectations of the younger generations.

I wear mine to my gym, and I've had two questions about it. I decided that I can't tell if my shirt is getting frowns, or if people are just deeply concentrating on their workout. I prefer to think they're concentrating on their workout. I usually go to the gym mid morning when it is not busy. That will change next week when I rejoin the working world, M-F 8:30 to 5. My gym hours will likely be after work, or peak time for the gym. Yes, I will still wear the shirts, and yes, it is time to think about getting a smaller size.

I live in a state where 420 is not legal, I would not have included that in my profile, just too many weirdos out there. I usually would mention it if/when we ever met in person. I haven't been imbibing for that long, but I really don't remember when I did start.
Which three would you keep?
HippieChick58 comments on Mar 2, 2019:
I got rid of Cable TV in 2015. I've gotten rid of most of my jewelry because I just wasn't wearing it. Tacos just aren't that yummy. Wines are a huge maybe. I haven't worn sweat pants in years. I did find a pair when I was cleaning out closets, they went to the donation bin. Cheese is a sometimes thing, Netflix about 4 times a month maybe, unless SamSam comes over. I gave up sugar which eliminated most chocolate. I'd love to have a dog but my yard would need to be fenced and I can no longer open my sliding door to the deck/backyard. That would be awkward. Coffee is once a day for caffeine only, I'd be just as good with taking caffeine pills. Oh, I add some supplements to my coffee, or vice versa. I've got Books and Cats. Substitute Sushi for Tacos and I can find 3.
I gave up on online dating.
HippieChick58 comments on Mar 1, 2019:
The god thing, I did laugh out loud. Meeting someone when you stop looking... After I became single I was on several dating sites, had a LTLDR (long term long distance relationship). That ended and after a while I tried online dating again. Then I dropped off all dating sites for a couple years, then went back on them, nothing changed. Dropped off again, and on again. After finding Ag.com I dropped off all online dating sites. I'm still single. I don't know if that will ever change. But I have this theory that you should begin as you mean to go on. We make resolutions all the time, so when you decide a change is needed, figure out how you want to be and do it. So I am living like I will always be single. I do what I wanna do when I wanna do it. I do things that make me happy, and I answer only to me. I have taken vacations alone. I eat out alone. I have gotten active with groups in my area with similar interests to mine. I have decided I am the right person for me. I'm going to be happy because I deserve to be happy, and truly I don't mind my own company. It ain't perfect, but even if I had a partner there is no guarantee it would be perfect. It will be what you make it. I'm not waiting for someone else to come along to either complete me or make me happy. I am complete, and I am happy. And more importantly, I am content.
A bee butt.

I was never so lonely as when I was married. My ex spent his free time on his other woman, AKA his website The Cyber Hymnal. She came first, always. Yeah, I wash all my fresh produce, no matter where it is supposed to have come from.

I lived in Japan and relied on the goodness of strangers and the magic of youth. I must have made my guardian angel work overtime more than once. I still swear in German and Japanese when under stress, though not as much Japanese anymore.

Please, for your mental health, put those people out of your life. There is a book I recommend. Toxic Parents by Susan Forward. That helped me so much!! My kids did not spend ANY time alone with my dad and step witch because of the abuse I endured at their hands. My kids probably saw my dad less than 10 times in their lives. I have read that the cycle of abuse is perpetuated through the generations, well for my kids I ended it. My sisters were the same way, none of the kids spent much time with their uncles or the grandparents. I seriously think going into the Army saved me. I got away from their crap and eventually realized how sick they were. If keeping up with family is costing you your peace of mind, shut that down. Your peace of mind is more important than the connection.

Georgie Porgie ?
HippieChick58 comments on Feb 26, 2019:
Our nursery rhymes have a rich political history. This one: The first recorded version of the rhyme was collected by James Orchard Halliwell in the mid-19th century with the lyrics: Rowley Powley, pumpkin pie, Kissed the girls and made them cry; When the girls began to cry, Rowley Powley runs away.[1] However, the version with Georgie Porgie was known to George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950) in his childhood and so may be at least as old.[citation needed] There are various theories that link the character Georgie Porgie to historical figures including George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham (1592–1628), Charles II (1630–1685, reigned from 1660) and George I (1660–1727, reigned from 1714), but there is no evidence to corroborate such claims. There is a further theory, equally unsubstantiated, but traditional in families which supported the Stuart line to the throne, that this is an old Jacobite rhyme that relates to the 1745 rebellion of mainly Scots. In this account the rhyme relates to King George II. It incorrectly implies that as the Jacobite army headed further and further south ("When the boys came out to play"), King George fled England for the safety of mainland Europe ("Georgie Porgie ran away"). Similarly, the convention of using "ie" instead of "y" or "ey" at the end of words is prevalent in Scotland. Also, the Great Fire of London started in Pudding Lane and is reported to have finished at Pye Corner. In this hypothesis, "The Boys" may refer to the firefighters of the time and Georgie Porgie was the arsonist running away at the prospect of the firefighters catching him at work. See "The Golden Boy of Pye Corner."

Dad comes running up the stairs trying to pull on his pants.... Jeebus, tempest in a teapot, the cinders were drowned, my lightbulbs were confiscated and I must have been grounded for a while. January 13, 2021 My newest and smallest grandchild. She arrived 5 weeks early and is now 2.5 weeks old and is less than 7 pounds. I've never held such a small baby before. She is quite perfect and very amazing. I love being a Grammy.
