Oh yeah, I heard that discussion frequently. I even tried to let/force my then husband make some decisions about the household. He didn't like it!!!! The Xian theory is wife is under the husband who is under Jesus, and that makes husband head of household. Sort of like many of the laws in England and the US way back when. All in all, Xianity just likes to treat women like chattel, like mindless children, even though Proverbs 31 talks about a woman making decisions and running a business. It is not a real workable approach in most households/families/lives. It's so bad it is not even archaic.

For me personally kids have totally enriched my life. My kids are amazing adults now. One of my kids doesn't want to have kids. She has never wanted kids. She is the most amazing auntie, she dotes on her niece and nephew, but loves to send them home as well. I don't think kids changed my relationship with my ex, but it did extend the relationship. I'd have left him long before except for the kids.

My youngest daughter had a "boyfriend" from the time she entered pre-school til high school. She always had a best friend who was male. And they were always the nicest boy in the class through elementary school. The later boys were not always the nicest but still nice, and one definitely was not the brightest. She always had her girlfriends too. There was only one time that their behavior was questionable, she was 16, and her dad had me talk to her. Yes, we were still married and living in the same house, but he thought I'd have better rapport with her, and he wasn't wrong. She was in her sister's bedroom (which was in the basement and not enclosed) with this boy, and they were cuddling on the bed. So I explained that things like that could get out of hand. I asked her what they called teenagers who let things get out of hand. She said "Stupid teenagers." I said, "No, we generally call them parents." I saw the lights go on! Never happened again.

It does not improve as you get older. For me, dating has essentially been scammers and a few nice guys, and guys that want to get laid. One of my nice guys moved away to be with another man. OK, little man. His daughter and grandson moved to the East Coast, and he followed to help them out. He was a good guy, just not an available guy, and I totally get it now that I have a grandson. But yes, dating is difficult. I haven't had a date since July 2018.

Were you diagnosed by a doctor to see if it was truly the flu or just a bad cold? 4 days seems really quick. I got a flu shot this year because I am exposed to babies and toddlers in germ pools. I mean Day Care. Sooo to protect me and them, I got the shot. Some years I skipped it because I was not directly exposed to massive germ factories. Then one of my coworkers brought her germ factory (child in day care) into the office, just for a minute. That was all it took. I was afraid I'd die and then afraid I wouldn't die fast enough.

I'm feeling a bit <not sure what the proper term is here>.

This is not actually the last picture taken with my phone, but the last one to remain on the phone. I've been taking pictures of stuff to sell on eBay, those are all edited and filed elsewhere. One of the last snowstorms we had was fairly wet snow, and as it melted and refroze it slid down the railing on the stairs to my deck. I thought it was an interesting flourish done by mother nature.

Long ago when I was first single, OKC had a group chat type of feature which was kinda cool. Also if you answered all the stupid questions you got to propose your own questions. They had some other tests that supposedly helped predict who you would match with better. They did away with those after a couple of years. I've had profiles on OKC, POF, and a few others. I'm not good about keeping track of user names and logins, so after I'd be away for a while I'd just go back with a new email and create a new profile.
