Wow, I'm sorry you're in such a situation. I think you do need to get rid of this toxic person. Real friends have your back. You do have to be cautious about what you post online. Anonymity brings out the worst in people. From what I've heard/read the Elder (who is from my state) was stepping between the young man and the black muslim protesters. The Elder wanted to prevent an attack or anything bad from happening. The kids then turned on the Elder, chanted "build the wall" to a Native American. The kids were there for an anti abortion protest, wearing MAGA hats. It was a situation that would have been easy to explode.

I will not own a gun. I have read statistics that say a gun in the is likely to be used against the homeowner. I also have grandchildren that visit from time to time and no safe place for a gun. I spent 6 years in the Army, shot an M16 often enough. I live in the suburbs, our crime rate is pretty low. I don't feel the need for protection, and I do have a baseball bat. I would like to see gun owners trained,and insured. I think guns need to be less readily available, and sorry, I don't think any civilian needs an automatic rifle. I've shot fully automatic. There is no accuracy and all it is used for is mayhem. I would like to see guns treated like cars. They should be registered, tested, licensed, insured. Cars don't kill people, but people with cars can kill people. Guns don't kill people, but people with gun kill people.

I am grateful to my physical make up that I don't like carbonated beverages. I have never liked soda pop, beer, champagne, anything sparkling. I was a heavy person anyway due to my sugar addiction, but not drinking soda might have saved my life or kept me from being the 350 pound woman. I used to work at the VA hospital. Once when I was in the ER they had a patient come in who would not speak to them in English but would respond in French or Spanish. One of the RNs spoke French and Spanish and tried to talk to him but he just stopped talking. Then he started to trash the exam room, so they put down the barriers so he had just his gurney area. Well then he started peeing all over. Luckily the Security Escorts arrived about then to take him to the 14th floor, Psych ward. Crazy crazy!

The first step to kicking diabetes is to kick the sugar habit. When I first detoxed from sugar I started eating nuts as a snack. All sorts of nuts and I'd munch all day as needed. I eat less than 50 grams of sugar most of the time, and probably less than that. There is sugar in processed foods that aren't sweet. Last time my blood was checked I was no longer pre-diabetic and I've lost about 30 pounds since early September. The Hummus and raw veggies are great, I eat lots of that. Cheese is great, watch the fruit. Watch the sugar in the yogurt, there will be added sugars many times. I eat lots of guacamole as well, love avocados. Sugar is the real devil in the health fight.

I've had a far less than perfect pet. I adopted a cat from the Human Society. She was very friendly at the shelter. At home she was super cat aggressive with the cat I already had. She was friendly to me, until she started taking swipes at me with claws extended. She was friendly to the grandbaby, and then turned around and smacked her and scratched her. She went back to the Humane Society after she scratched the grandbaby. I strongly suspect the Humane Society ended up putting her down. I could not have a cat or any pet that would attack me or a grandchild. I might have tolerated it longer, but not after she scratched the baby.
