Handicap Access is a Civil Right.
HippieChick58 comments on Dec 11, 2018:
I have read that the handicapped don't care if the spaces are right in front of the store or more distant. They just want the space around the vehicle so they can get in and out of the car with their devices with greater ease. It is all about access and space, not so much location.

I used to write long letters with our Xmas cards, and then one year I read the past several years letters. That is when I knew we were heading for divorce. The recipients of the letters usually told me they appreciated and enjoyed the letters. As of this year I don't think I've sent cards or written letters in 5 or more years. No time and no inclination.

I hear a lot of people talk about forgiveness making them feel better.
HippieChick58 comments on Dec 10, 2018:
Holding on to unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Resentment, anger, and all the emotions of unforgiveness are a burden to you. Let it go. Time/fate/karma/whatever will take care of the offender, or it won't. It isn't in your control. And because you can't control that, you control what you can and let go of it. It is hard, but it is freeing.

HippieChick58 comments on Dec 9, 2018:
I feel your pain. You need to take time for you, to do the things that make you happy and renew your spirit. Do you need to bake and make gifts? Yes, sometimes it is hard to find the will to go on everyday, especially when we're alone. I know that feeling of "Is this all there is?" I had it bad a few years ago. I have no idea why we're here, sometimes it does seem like punishment. What got me through was my kids still need me, if not as often. HippieChick58 comments on Dec 9, 2018:
To me it is really sad for those who deliberately choose to be alone. I don't understand it. My brother would be invited to family gatherings, but I laid down some rules. He has to express gratitude to the hostess and he can't criticize my driving. Nope. To me his attitude says he is the big brother, he knows better, we should be grateful for his presence. So he is 50 miles away and I haven't seen him in over a year. He never married, no kids, I am the closest relative. Another of our sisters had the same reaction from him. So he is alone for all the holidays due to his own choices. Good luck with that bro.

HippieChick58 comments on Dec 8, 2018:
I used to buy a Rand McNally Road Atlas annually. We used to keep track of where each of the girls had traveled with the atlas from their birth year. That was exhausting keeping that up, we traveled alot. Once I got GPS I stopped using maps except for Google Maps and MapQuest. I love my GPS. I have an old Garmin that I keep in my car for emergencies (like the cell is dead). It has lifetime updates so I try to bring it up to date annually, and I expect I'm only a year or two behind. Several years ago I arrived at the airport in San Antonio at midnight. Trying to read a map and navigate to my hotel in pitch black at 70mph was crazy. Once I got a GPS I never printed out another map.

So I've used it since September. I think it is helping.
