I usually have low levels of Vit D because I stay out of the sun. I burn in no time flat and skin cancer is a definite risk. A few years ago I was diagnosed with low D and put on supplements. Vampires need to stay away because I really can't spare any.

Did you know you can tell how uncomfortable someone is just by hugging them for bout 20 minutes?

Love is not a finite emotion. The love for your children is definitely different than the love for your spouse, as is your love for your pets, etc. So yes, you can still love another person. Hopefully you won't do anything to cause the person you are currently entangled with to want to change the relationship status.

Hang in there, grief has no timeline. It will get better, but it might take a while. Be forgiving of yourself and of others, for your friends it is hard to know what to do so doing nothing is safer/easier. For yourself, for all the hundreds of things we beat ourselves up for.

I have not had any issues with anyone wanting to change the rules, except for the rule about the number of posts per day, and we've adjusted to that. The biggest problem I get is occasional trolls, and I've learned how to deal with them. It's your group, your dream, you get to do it your way. I think you handled it appropriately. I wanted pets, he didn't, even though he grew up with a dog. Go figure. Politics! OMG, he is a confused conservative and I'm seriously liberal. However, when we married neither of us was nearly as extreme as we are now. We both learned and grew, but in totally different directions. Generosity, the guy thinks 10% is a good tip. Part of the reason STIs are so high among this age group is that we became sexually active before the onset of the STI epidemic. We did not make it a habit to use protection. When I think of the chances I took when I was young, foolish, and in a job where it was 80% young men... I didn't sleep alone unless I wanted to. I was in the Army, men allllll over the place; young healthy, horny men. Post divorce I was not as careful as I should have been, but I escaped unscathed. And I've wised up to be sure that any partner uses protection. I used to carry condoms, I probably ought to clean out my purse to see if they have expired.

I haven't read a newspaper in my house since way before I got the cats. One of my cats will come over to check out my computer when I have a music video playing. Generally my cats are happy to be near me, or exploring the house. One is upstairs now playing with the robovac and looking out the open windows/doors. Ah, she just came down to use the litter box. Generally they're not lap cats, but they will sleep on the bed with me. They're both young, I think as they get older they may evolve into lap kitties. Right now there is just too much to explore!

I think all in all, things are pretty good and I'd be ok to remain at this level. Of course, life ISN'T static, things change from moment to moment. I expect things will actually get better for me, possibly I will be happier. But I've been so much worse. That being said, happiness is a choice. I've known people who appeared to have everything but weren't happy and I see people with far less who are the happiest people I've ever seen. I think far more important than happiness is contentment or peace of mind.

I've noticed a theme with cats and laundry.

I was once staying with my youngest sister and sleeping on her sofa bed. Maynard, her cat usually slept on the sofa, so he transferred quite well to sleeping against me. During the night in our sleep he'd push against me and I'd move over til I hit the side of the bed, and then I'd move him to the other side of me, and we repeated that routine allllll night long. He liked full body contact. Wow, I realized that was 40 years ago.

I stopped eating sugar about 3 years ago. The first year I dropped nearly 50 pounds. Then I started a high stress job and mucho overtime. I put 10 pounds back on by stress eating (chocolate) and almost no exercise. I kicked the sugar again about 6 months ago, and now have left the high stress job. I am now exercising regularly, and have added intermittent fasting. We will see what happens. Even if I don't loose weight, I want to be stronger. I want to be able to hold the grand children without my back screaming. I want to be able to get up off the floor with some semblance of grace.
