I still do it as an adult, only difference my cheese is not Velveeta, my bread is not Wonder White bread, and my soup does not come from a can. As a kid I'd sometimes use foil and mom's iron to toast the sandwich. It made for a very flat sandwich.

I didn't look at my sons shirt when he came out, lol.

Omaha, Nebraska is home to Warren Buffet, and I kinda generally know where his house is. Omaha also has the world's largest indoor rainforest. It is at the Henry Doorly Zoo. We have CarHenge. It is the birthplace of Koolaid. It is the home of the Runza, and if you don't know what that is, it was better when I was a kid. Johnny Carson was from the state (does anyone remember him?) And President Ford was born in Omaha.

Part of the reason is that women approximately your age might have been taught to "play nice" and not hurt anyone's feelings. I say might because I'm 60 and that is what I was taught. I however taught my kids to be freaking honest and shoot straight as I try to do now. Women used to be given a crapload of mixed messages growing up. Also, it is easier to avoid unpleasantness than deal with it, and some people have no backbone. Or it is true that the kid was sick and now she is sick and she just didn't feel like dealing with you at the moment. And having kids this might not be the best time to bring on a new demand for her time. Really, parenting is hard and single parenting can be overwhelming. It does suck whichever way it is.

Two of my kids worked for Hayneedle Shops, an online retailer sorta like Wayfair. Well, then they ended up working for WM becasue WM bought Hayneedle. Now one has moved to a different type of job. My kids worked customer service/telephone/IT stuff, not retail per se.

I am fair skinned and fair haired. I stopped shaving anything about 6 years ago. Unless you're really up close and personal you can't see it. I have thick chin hairs that I pluck often enough. My eyebrows turned gray so they're lighter than my hair. I do shade them in if I wear makeup. I don't color my hair, and I've possibly got about 50 visible gray hairs. Meh, I'm 60, bound to happen sooner or later. I'm not going to spend money to change my hair any.

I am from a family of 6, 3 older brothers and two younger sisters. So I'm not sure where I belong in the traditional birth order theory. I'm the oldest of the girls, and I have many qualities of the oldest child. My youngest sister is definitely a baby of the family, and all my brothers defy the birth order logic. The oldest is a dead beat dad, hasn't been in touch for over 30 years, not responsible at all. I have three girls, and they pretty much follow birth order theory. As adults they gossip about one another, but the oldest is uber responsible, the middle is the negotiator and care taker type, and the youngest tends to be flaky.

I joined a gym in October, I had not been able to find my abs in years. I can find abs now, it is the coolest thing. I want from huffing at 1/4 mile to walking 5 miles with ease. I still can't do push ups, too much damage from arthritis to put that weight on my hands. Get in shape before you get old.

I shop early and I shop mostly online. My radio station plays less than one Christmas song an hour. I don't decorate or send cards. I shop brick and mortar stores only as needed. And pretty much I follow my routine as usual until something else comes up. This year, not much. I'm not really a scrooge, I'm just ignoring the whole show until I have to deal with it. Give me my grandbabies and I'll be that Jolly Olde Elf.

My problem turned out to be not the gluten, but the fact that wheat can be treated with Roundup to shorten the length of time it takes for the wheat to dry for harvest. This is an off label use and does not have to be reported by the farmers. I developed "leaky gut syndrome" which is likely the result of eating bread products that were made with wheat treated with Roundup. It is hard to prove though. So my solution was to avoid all products made with wheat, and yes going gluten free. I now find that organic wheat products are safe for me.

I'll be so relieved when this month is over.

Cats will take baths if they are accustomed to them from babyhood. I don't think it is wise to give a cat a bath unless kitty has something on it that is shouldn't ingest, they handle self cleaning pretty well. When I was growing up our cat got into some motor oil. My dad told my brother, younger sister and I to give it a bath. It took all three of us to get the cat into a dishpan of soapy water and get it clean. He was NOT a happy cat. He ended up a clean cat, and I think he forgave us, but we ended up almost as wet as he was.
