I like to give encouragement as I encounter people. When I learned about training animals (and kids), the advice was "catch them doing right". So I like to reinforce positive behavior. Hopefully it will be repeated and the world will become a better place.

There is nothing on the list that I haven't eaten before. There are many items on the list I will choose NOT to eat now for a variety of reasons. I no longer routinely eat meat, or anything high in sugar like ketchup and Nutella. I avoid foods that have ingredients I can't pronounce, except for Quinoa. I'm not a picky eater, just selective.

How many are you feeding with this recipe? There is just me and the kitties here, and though I think the kitties would eat some of it if I let them (one of the cats has absconded with a peanut butter sandwich so she is not a picky eater) I'm not sure they would eat much of it, or if they should eat much of it. And I don't think frittata would reheat well.

That said, way too often as fully grown adults that horrible feeling of not being enough comes back upon us. When that happens we need to reach out to our 17 year old self and tell her/him that you ARE enough, and you were enough then. We're NOT ugly ducklings, we're amazing human being. Yeah, the physical plant might not be the most stylin' but the real us is amazing and awesome. In real estate the 3 most important items are location, location, and location. If your credit is good and you can get a loan, home ownership is usually cheaper than renting. However, you are responsible for all the repairs/replacements. And when you own you can't simply break the lease and move out. There are some good online resouces about home ownership that will help you make that decision. I am a home owner, I'm also 60 and have owned many houses and rented a few apartments. For me, more space for less money was a consideration.

So today as I am walking the track wearing my Ag.com shirt, I see a older gent struggling on a treadmill, his T-shirt had something about Jesus on it. My dad had part of a cinch strap from a horse's saddle. Don't know where he got it. He wasn't afraid to use his belt, or hands, or whatever was close either. My dad was rough and for the most part abusive. When I was 12ish I was no longer spanked. My mom died when I was 14, my dad remarried the bitch from hell when I was 15. I remember her telling me that I wasn't too big for a spanking. My dad's punishments often crossed the line to abuse. I spanked my kids a few times, but I usually found a more cerebral approach to discipline. They wrote bible verses, and paragraphs. My challenging child spent a week without a light in her room AND I chose her clothes every day. She has turned into an amazing young woman. Interestingly enough, to discipline means to teach. Jesus had disciples that he taught. I don't think that violence is a particularly good method of teaching.
