When I first had Xena she'd greet me at the door when I came in and I'd pick her up and cuddle. Now I have Zelda also, and they come see me, but Xena acts coy about being picked up. I'm not going to chase her down, but I do miss my cuddles.

Please, save yourself the heartache. I went to my 20th, I have no idea who most of those people were. I had little in common with them then, and less in common at the 20 year point. I took a totally different route than the majority of my classmates. I'm not the same person I was in HS, those were not the best days of my life. My 40th was two years ago, I skipped it with no regrets.

Even Family Practice doctors are not well trained in mental health issues. Check with your health insurance to see if there are any behavioral health practitioners in your area that take your insurance. I can access the doctors who take my insurance online, maybe you can as well. You may need both a therapist and a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist will prescribe the drugs, the therapist will provide counseling. Your family sounds harsh and unsupportive, however that is not uncommon. You may have to meet different therapists until you find one you can feel comfortable with. Despite what your family feels depression/anxiety and other mental health issues are "real" diseases and can cause real disability.

I first experienced depression in my 20s. Single, in the Army, not a good fit, not at all doing anything career wise that I was interested in.I wouldn't have said I was a xian then, I was pretty flighty back then. I experienced depression off an on for several years in my 30s and 40s, while I was trying to be a good Xian. And I have had anxiety and depression off an on through my 50s while being openly atheist. So, no connection for me between religion or lack thereof and depression.

When my oldest was 5 and middle child 2 we took a long car trip. In the morning the 2 year old wanted to play and the oldest wanted to read. After lunch the younger would fall asleep and the older child was ready to play. Those two didn't get in sync until...... I'm not sure they're in sync yet.

I recycle anything that I can, and avoid using products that cannot be recycled. I sell clothing I no longer want/need on eBay. I make my own deodorant and toothpaste and reuse the containers for the next batch. I but stuff in glass containers as often as I can and the glass gets recycled. Plastics and paper I can recycle with my weekly trash pick up at home. Food scraps get recycled to my worm box or compost bin. I don't use much in the way of disposable paper products, I use cloth and wash and reuse. About 15 years ago I made cloth shopping bags which reduces the number of grocery bags I use. I do use plastic shopping bags when I clean out the kitty boxes.
