Too bad it's not jail

Jail is preferred, but I'd settle for 6 feet under.
HippieChick58 replies on Sep 1, 2021:
@CuddyCruiser living to an old age is a privlege. My mom was denied that, she passed at 45. She never got to know her grandchildren. I was concerned at reaching 45, my mom died of ovarian cancer, so I had my ovaries examined annually until I was 50. After 50 I said to hell with it. Now I have lived 18 years beyond my mother's life span. I have children that are established in their relationships and careers, and I have grandchildren. All of that was denied to my mom. Yes, getting old is a privlege. Never forget that. Not everyone gets to live a long life.

@TomMcGiverin I can't say I've noticed that, but I can't say it is wrong. I am thankful to be close to my kids. A childless friend of mine who is older than I am and has some health issues has great concerns for end of life issues. I have one kid that is already "momming" me, though she backs off fast enough when I give her "the look." I enjoy my kids, I created them. They do have their own lives. My kids grew up as military brats, we moved frequently and rarely lived near family. My kids have stayed in the area to give their kids the opportunity to get to know the rest of the family. I love it. I am close enough to help out when needed. And such as it is, I have my own life and my own activities. I think we have a good equilibrium.

I was recently messaged by someone on here with a younger kids. That's a no go for me. My kids are independent adults, I like it that way. As for rejection, that is part and parcel of dating. She is the totally favorite Auntie, she is also the one that is doing the most of the taking care of aging parents. She takes her dad to appointments as needed, and during the height of the pandemic was schlepping groceries to me and her dad. I enjoyed that because I saw her at least weekly that way, usually I see her every other week or so. But really, I prefer to get my own groceries, and other purchases. I grew up thinking I'd be a mom one day, and truthfully I enjoy my kids greatly. They are awesome people. And if you can't tell, I love being a grandmother as well. Later he had to move to the roof, the National Guard came by with a helicopter and the old man said, "Nah, God will provide." His house washed away and the man died. He woke up in front of the Pearly Gates and confronted God. "How could you?" God said, "I sent two boats and a helicopter, what more did you want?"
Mmmm…..I’d say that’s about right.

If they are vaccinated they will be less risk to others. I just spent the morning in a waiting room at an auto dealership getting my car serviced. I wore a mask most of the time, I was one of the very few. The Covid numbers are going up, and I'd rather err on the side of caution. I tried to social distance, but people kept choosing seats near me.... I considered growling but I just kept my mask on.

That was first published in 1975. It was based on his two earlier books If Only They Could Talk (1970) and It Shouldn't Happen to a Vet (1972), and was given the same title as the 1972 US compilation volume of these two novels, was released in 1975. The series has 5 books.
