HippieChick58 comments on Jul 6, 2018:
I would donate to that!
I Probably shouldn’t be posting this but I’m having a little bit of an issue.
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 6, 2018:
I'm 60, been divorced about 9 years. First love yourself. Make yourself a priority, do things you like to do, get busy having the best life you can have. Then if you still don't meet anyone your having a good time anyway. Yeah, I can see advantages to being in a relationship, tons of them. However, I can't make it happen and I'm not going to tread water waiting for it to happen. If I find someone we'll figure out a way to make it work, if not, my life is working as it is.
How many Oreos are too many? Is it 25? I’d like it to be more than 25.
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 6, 2018:
Too many Oreos? What sort of blasphemy is that? There are never enough Oreos. And not those Sunshine Hydrox crap, I want real Oreos.
Good morning and Happy Friday! Feels like I had two Mondays this week!
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 6, 2018:
Happy Friday!! I like weeks with two Fridays! And the fact that yesterday was not Monday like for me was an additional plus.
I thought this was good advice.
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 6, 2018:
Never settle, and never be settled for. We all deserve to be with someone who makes us a priority.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great Independence Day!
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 5, 2018:
I got enough done to be happy, and also got my nap in. Good quiet day. Work will be another issue. We're always swamped after a holiday... email tends to breed if it isn't cleaned out every day. But, ya do what ya can and just keep your head down.
Do you celebrate 4th of July or is it just another ordinary day to you?
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 4, 2018:
It is a paid day off, nice that it comes in the middle of the week this year. And I've just hung out at home, so just another day, albeit productive. I don't care for the fireworks and the kids were busy with other stuff.
Something to think about.
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 4, 2018:
I've thought for a long time that some of the illegal stuff that Americans seem prone to do ought to be legalized and regulated. Prostitution is legal many places and the workers have benefits and regulations. They get health care and that can slow down the spread of STDs. Make pot legal like Colorado did and reap the benefits of the taxes. Other drugs could be the same way, taxed and regulated.

When did you last have sex with a partner? (A 50 and over confidential poll)
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 4, 2018:
I truly cannot remember, but I think it has been more than a year. I remember who, just not when. I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not. But I haven't found anyone in the past couple of years or more that I've wanted to develop a relationship with. If I was willing to have a long distance relationship maybe things would change, but such as it is, Omaha is where my kids settled and I don't want to move.
I felt these needed to be shared here. Meow.

HippieChick58 comments on Jul 4, 2018:
Happy immigrant mixed breed. Mom's family was from Germany and Switzerland. Grandmother came to the US at age 10, mom was born in '27, so I'm guessing Grandma came over very early 1900s. Grandpa was here a few years before that. Dad's parents were English, Scottish mix. Great Grandpa Smith came from Lincoln, England and settled in Lincoln, Nebraska.

HippieChick58 comments on Jul 4, 2018:
I have three adult kids that live in my town, one I know will be out of town today. I have no idea what the other two have going on, and haven't invited me to anything. I don't care about fireworks, so my plan is just to do what I wanna do and enjoy my day off. My actual plan is a nap sometime here shortly, and then work on one of my hundreds of projects and stay inside. It is 90° and high humidity so only feels like 100° outside. Too hot for me.

Are you mellowing with age or leaning toward the get-off-my-lawn end of the spectrum?
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 4, 2018:
Depends on what the issue is. Have you seen my political postings, I'm getting more Liberal and proud of it as I age. My grass I don't give a darn about, I just don't want the twerps looking in my windows or messing with my garden. I curse at other drivers, put the damn phone down and pay attention to traffic! My motto is pick your battles and find your peace. I am concerned enough about the USA to chose to participate politically. Who the Kardashians are sleeping or not sleeping with I don't give a rip for. Why are they a thing, anyway?

Are you or have you ever known anyone to be agnostic/atheist AND pro-life?
HippieChick58 comments on Jul 3, 2018:
I am pro life and pro choice. I think all babies should be wanted, welcomed and born. However, through personal experience I know it can't always be. I had a baby with severe neural tube defects (yes, more than one defect) that would preclude life outside the womb, and may have caused me to miscarry or worse. I had an abortion. The baby was wanted, planned and welcome. But **I** made a choice for **MY** health. This was more than 30 years ago. I would love for every woman never to have to make that choice. No woman makes it happily, but every woman has to make the choice for herself, her health, her family. I spent 20+ years in Christian communities and I have told my story several times. It shuts down arguments really fast. I have a sister with fertility issues, she used to cry knowing babies were being aborted, but she also supports a woman's choice for authority over her body.
Because.......?

I think it is fear that is preached by politicians. Their divide and conquer system tells folks that the new comers might take what they have recently achieved. "they're different" When you have been deprived it is hard to let go of the fear, they don't realize it isn't pie, there is enough for all; and different is not evil or bad, it is just not what you're used to.

HippieChick58 comments on Jul 2, 2018:
Rural Nebraska German immigrants always pronounce Creek as CRICK. When I want to wig my daughters out, I say crick just to let them stew. What gets my goat is when someone says Warshington, or warsh machine. There is no R in wash! One of my kids' teachers in Washington State always said WARSH. And I am thinking "why are you teaching children, especially mine?"

Go to the closest shop that sells essential oils, buy oil of cloves. Saturate a cotton ball w/the oil and another oil and hold it against your gum above the hurting tooth. It isn't a fix, it is just to give you temporary relief.

For me, appearance matters very little. Good hygiene, hair as they prefer, skin color or race doesn't matter. Non religious and liberal matter. Interests can vary. They should have their own and some that overlap with mine. I don't really expect or want company in my sewing room, but someone to go to estate sales, travel, do yard work/gardening with. They must like cats.
Good morning! Enjoy your day!
