I feel your pain. We are so isolated even in groups. How often in a group do you see folks with their phones out. My daughter got on my case when I pulled my phone out while visiting my sister. I just was going a quick google of something. But she had a valid point. It wasn't necessary at that moment. As a society we have too much constant activity. No one spends time alone with their thoughts, it is constant bombardment of noise and visuals. We need to unplug and unwind before we self destruct.

I have never seen any of my cats pooping. The litter box has always been out of the way, and they've never used the box when I was near. OK, my current youngest cat will pee in front of me and right after I've cleaned the litter boxes. Litter boxes are now in the laundry room, and if I go in while they're on the box they will stop and run out of the room. Do I have weird cats?

I have three older brothers and two younger sisters. My oldest brother retired from the Navy, went home to his family. 5 kids. He split, went AWOL. That was over 30 years ago, we have no idea where he is to this day. #2 is a disabled vet, lives 50 miles away. Chose to criticize me when I did something for him and I called him on it. He told me to shove it and has not contacted me since. My youngest brother is mean as a snake, lives 150 miles away, and I leave him alone. Youngest sister is a felon, and "it isn't her fault." Excuse me, embezzling from your employer who is a lawyer is premeditated and stupid. Left her husband and kids for another man, took money from her son's bank accounts when he was a Marine in Afghanistan. Not her fault. We don't talk much. And my middle sister is my BFF. Kind, sweet, so much like our mother, great cook. She lives 1.5 hours from me, on a lake. My kids, their families and I are going up for a visit today. We're gonna come home sunburned and tired!

You only get to be a kid once. Let them learn who they are, instead of being told who they are. Hair grows and changes. One of my kids Koolaide dyed her very blonde hair RED. It stained. And it grew out. She learned a hell of a lesson and I have pictures! (And an old diary. She will never have kids of her own... I have too much evidence) But the gift of yourself, your time and attention is more precious than any toy. I have all girls, they got cell phones when they got their licenses. We thought it just safer that way. I was a SAHM (stay at home mom) while they grew up. They tell you the most amazing stuff after 10 PM. I was lucky to be able to stay up and listen to them. My kids are now amazing young adults with families of their own. They still like to hang with mom, and 2 out of 3 gave me grandkids. They grew up to be strong responsible amazing young women.

I have a massive headache due to allergies. However, tomorrow my kids are meeting here and then we're going to my sister's house 1.5 hours away. She lives on a lake, has a jet ski and pontoon boat. The babies are going to be introduced to the lake, we're going to fry in the sun, and sis is going to feed us til we can't walk.

Seriously, I think he is making the right decision. I was talking to a lady today (I work in short term disability claims.) She is on chemo for cancer, she was a teacher for over 40 years, no husband no kids. She will be taking chemo for the rest of her life. It is making her sick as hell. Is that how you want to live? I want quality of life. I've already decided and told my kids I will not do chemo. Length of life doesn't matter if you're sick all the time. I hope John McCain goes peacefully. He did his time. I may not agree with him politically, but he deserves his rest.

I am a natural blonde. I have explored all shades of blonde. I am 60 and just starting to get some grays. I have colored previously, after I leaned how toxic the dyes are I gave that up. Now IF I want to enhance my color I use strong teas. Roobios Red tea makes a nice reddish rinse. Doesn't last long, but gentle on your hair, the more often you rinse the longer it stays. Mostly I just let my hair be as it is. My grandmother was prematurely gray at 25, I figure I'm good.

So question of course.

Long distance is hard. I'd only meet someone if there is a remote possibility they'd move to where I am. My roots are deep here. However at my age most folks have deep roots, so the odds are slim that I will find someone. I'm not goingto fly to meet someone, so 100 miles or so, we can meet in the middle and it is a pleasant drive for both of us.
