Has anyone ever felt unworthy of love? I can't shake this feeling.
HippieChick58 comments on Jun 7, 2018:
There is such power in admitting our weaknesses, our failing, our fears. There is great power in knowing we're not alone with those horrible thought. I want everyone to know YOU are worthy, you are loved, you ARE good enough, you are smart enough, you are enough, you ARE enough. @Squirrel you are worthy. I will stand with you and I will remind you, all of you, every last one of you, YOU are worthy. We are not perfect, but we are worthy.
This is what I'm waiting for.

HippieChick58 comments on Jun 6, 2018:
I turned the cable off during the Iowa primaries. I live close to the Nebraska/Iowa border, so we got all the commercials twice. Anyway, I glanced up one night and saw Ted Cruz's face in my living room. I got a Roku and cut the cable. So I have no clue what is on. I used to watch The Big Bang Theory and Scorpion. I don't know if Scorpion is even on any more. TBBT is still on, I think.

How do people feel about people who are childless?
HippieChick58 comments on Jun 6, 2018:
It comes down to choice. Babies should be wanted, so someone who doesn't want or is ambivalent should not be making babies. Babies are an incredible time and money sponge. I have three daughters, two have babies. The third is the most nurturing of all of them, but doesn't want to have babies. She is the best auntie ever, and she is going to be taking care of her parents as we age. She is busy with her career, she is a volunteer with CASA, she is incredible. But she never wanted to have kids. I support her fully in her choices.

My daughter and I read each other’s Match .
HippieChick58 comments on Jun 6, 2018:
I was on Match, but not for long and long ago. My experience with most dating sites is tons of scammers, and those real people that were on there were not looking for someone like me or we were looking for different things. And yes, don't forget the married guys. On the one hand, how will you find if you don't look, and on the other hand how much BS do you have to put up with. The BS got me down.

Do you see it as child abuse forcing kids to go to Church when they are clearly sick?
HippieChick58 comments on Jun 5, 2018:
It is simply stupid to take a sick child anywhere, except for urgent care or other medical facility. I don't want your sick kid's germs, keep the little germ factory at home and stop spreading the illnesses. I think parents have a choice of where their children should go and if they decide that church is their choice that is what parents do. That also begs the question of how old is that child? However, it does fall under the aegis of parenthood, my house my rules. The part about the sick child I take exception to. Sick kids belong at home. No one, in or out of church wants to deal with your little germ factory's bugs.

HippieChick58 comments on Jun 3, 2018:
Love, love, love this picture. I was born in 1958 in small town Nebraska. My uncle (dad's brother) went to Japan during the Korean war and come home with a Japanese bride. I always thought that was normal. When later I was told that marrying "colored" (ie anyone non white) was wrong I laughed at them. I had no clue that was an issue until middle or HS. I had a few years of believing that homosexuality was wrong, but gradually realized that people are. You love who you love. My Japanese aunt was instrumental in that education. She was the most fascinating person I ever met and the most open. When I was growing up sex was not talked about, and she was happy to talk about it. In the past few years with my kids I have been educated that people are not binary as I was taught growing up. Sexuality is not binary, there are many variations, and you love who you love. I think if we spend more time loving other people instead of trying to stick them in boxes and behave certain ways we'd be a healthier society.
Do you "talk with your hands"? Does it bother you if others do?
HippieChick58 comments on Jun 3, 2018:

We met when we both needed support and did good for the distance. He had a major heart issues, and he's changed jobs a few times, and moved a few times. He's also a damn hound dog. He's been through 3 relationships since I've known him. He thinks his little man is the be all and end all, and regularly sends dick pics. He just doesn't get it that it does nothing for me and I delete it as soon as I can. Luckily for my peace of mind I see/talk with him much less often now because I go to bed early and he's busy with the recent temporary love of his life. Sometimes I wish I could just shake him.
