When I was a kid I had a cat that could climb the huge tree beside the house and drop onto the roof in front of my bedroom windows. We had no AC, the windows were open. She got let in a few times, and then we caught hell for doing that. Dad put a sheet of tin on the tree about 6 feet off the ground as a deterrent. Didn't work. I don't remember how we discouraged that little habit, maybe we moved....

YAY for you!! My boss issued an edict (actually she reminded everyone of the rules) that we all HAVE to leave our desks for at least 30 minutes in the middle of the day. We can eat at our desks but we still have to be physically away from our desks. So I am going out for a walk around the building, it is a big building. After having the cold from hell and several falls during the winter, one circuit was enough, but next week I will find ways to lengthen that circuit.

I don't know what to tell you cuz I am in the same boat. On dating sites I was attracting mostly scammers. I had one guy that came over on the weekend to watch Downton Abbey with me, that was all he was looking for. He told me "I was a nice person, but". I finished DA w/out him. So, I have no idea, and I quit actively looking. This is the only site I'm on with dating potential, and the available men from Omaha are slim, especially when one of them is someone I know well and that bridge done burned. I don't know that I'm embracing my singleness, or just accepting the inevitable.

Seriously don't love anyone? C'mon, not even yourself? That is really sad, really sad. I live alone, no significant other. However, I have kids and grandkids that I love. I have a sister who is my BFF. Then I have my kitty girls. So instead of a pity party, go out and find someone to love. Get involved with someone or something! Become a big sister/brother. Go to a nursing home and read to the elderly. Go to the animal shelter and volunteer to play with or walk the puppies. There are people out there waiting for you to love them, what are you waiting for?

I had a golden that hated thunderstorms. I live in Nebraska, thunderstorms are common in spring. He also hated fireworks. I'd have to keep him sedated from the end of June to the first week of July. He also hated hot air balloons, and where we were living would get one going over our house about 6 times a year. He wanted to be a lap puppy but 85 pounds of quivers was too much!

During the xmas season my radio station changed to all xmas music format the week before thanksgiving. So I switched to the boomer station. Then on Sunday morning at 0900 they ran a worship service from one of the local churches.... I wrote to the station and told them because of that I was leaving. I got a note back that gave their logic for running it. I don't give a rip, I don't want that crap in my ears. So, apparently not all boomers have been pushed towards atheism. Then again, I do live in a conservative area.

My experience has taught me there are as many different types of people as there are shades of gray. Ann Landers once wrote that between consenting adults nothing is wrong or taboo. Whereas you may not be turned on by BDSM there are some who are and that's OK. If it isn't your cup of tea, don't drink. I think all of it is wonderful or can be wonderful given the right set of circumstances.

We need to develop tolerance, that not everyone is going to be a clone of us and think like we do. We need to be open minded and truly believe we can learn something from everyone. We need to acknowledge that we are the be all and end all, we are still work in progress, and this is a very good thing. And we need to be slower to cry, and yell, and scream. We need to learn some diplomacy. And we need to teach our kids these same lessons. We used to live in a society that was slower to take offense. Where did that go?

LOL! Thank you for giving blood. They won't let me give blood cuz I lived in Germany in the 80s. And yes, gotta have plants. I'm dying because first it was too cold to work in the garden, then the grandson was born and there was some drama there, then I got sick, and now it has gotten hot. We had 2 weeks of spring and I missed it. However, I did get the worm castings out to the garden so next week I hit the garden center!

I spent 6 years in the Army, went to Okinawa, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Germany. I married a soldier and went back to Germany, and moved about 15 more times. I am planning a trip to Winipeg in the fall, and we will see what the future brings.

I think people deserve to do what makes them happy. In my work I've processed a few claims for gender reassignment surgery. I've read descriptions of the surgeries and the recovery times and expectations. Definitely NOT my cup of tea, and I'm very happy to be the gender I am. But if it gives you peace of mind or happiness, go for it. That being said, in 5 years or so, I'd like to get my eyelids done. They're getting very droopy. But then again, I'm not sure I want knives so close to my eyes. We'll see. I'm all for others doing what makes them happy. Follow Your Bliss.
