Not miracle whip, though I grew up eating tons of it. For me it is mayo and preferably made fresh. It depends on what is going on the buns.
In this age of technology, how do you feel about internet relationships? Is distant love possible?

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
I live near the geographical center of the USA, in the great plains. Where I live it is hilly, I am in Omaha, Nebraska, near the border with the Missouri River and Iowa is on the other side. We were settled by farmers and other immigrants. My great grandparents came from Germany, Switzerland, Scotland, and England. We have a world class zoo. We have the College World Series of Baseball (apparently that is important to some.) We displaced indigenous populations to build our farms and run our railroad tracks across the land. There used to be large herds of bison roaming the land, those went away with the railroads, and the indigenous population was mistreated and herded onto the poorest land available and left to essentially starve.
What do you prefer doing when you feeling sad and depressed?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
I usually just grit my teeth and know it will pass. Recently much of it has been job stress related, I'm hoping I've got a handle on that now. I use some herbs and try to get enough sleep. One of these days I'm going to be able to go outside and take walks and get some sunshine. If I am deficient in Vitamin D it affects me.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
My skin was very oily and I'd break out ALL the damn time. Then I cleared up for a while, and then I got pregnant and my skin thought it was 13 again, each time. After kids I'd have occasional breakouts. Now past menopause OMG is my skin dry, but I rarely break out. I'm pretty sure if I had a better diet and better habits as a teen my skin would have been much better.
Do you go by the amount of positive reviews when you make a purchase online?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:

When will I stop thinking about him?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
When you start thinking about him, make yourself remember the crap he did. I had a long term relationship that broke my heart. 6 years later I still think of him from time to time. When it was good it was really really good, but I glossed over the crap. When I think of him now I think of the money he owes me, the promises he broke, the criticisms he had for me. the lies he told from the beginning. I have wisdom for the pain now. I want to find someone with his good qualities and without the crap. But focus on the crap and it will help you move forward.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
Hello, I'm Paula. I'm a suburbanite in the cold frozen plains states. We heard a rumor that it was spring, and then we got snow again so we're figuring that was a lie. A damn lie! Any way when spring finally finds us I have two 4x4 raised beds and a deck with lots of pots. I love fresh tomatoes and experiment with other crops from time to time. I grew lots of basil last year and put up lots of pesto sauce. I work full time +, inside my house doesn't get much light, and have young cats. Not many plants indoors. I also have a compost bin and a worm box. It is about time to put in fresh bedding for the worms and dig the castings into the garden.
The female population so far have not responded to this group.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
My experience is that it isn't the size it is how you use it. My second ex that I was with for over 25 years was well hung. Had no rhythm, no imagination, and inhibitions that Freud would have loved to explore. I used to think it was a horrible waste of potential. I've had far, far better experiences with men less well endowed.
Started a group called real intimacy.

I am just amazed they don't have some onboarding training for you. This is how we do it type of approach, and teamed you with a senior nurse for at least the first week. Is there a charge nurse you can go to with questions? Nothing like throwing you into the deep end from the start. And THANK YOU!! Nurses are over worked and underrated. Thank you for being an angel on earth. I read a couple of doctor blogs and they confirm that nurses are saints and if you want your facility to run well you have to support your nurses.

Movies from years ago
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
I am shocked sometime at how lame and corny shows and movies from my youth were. I don't often watch old movies, but sometimes.
This is a sad post for a state with massive problems.
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
When I was 19 and in the Army I married a fellow soldier. He was 28 and a Kentucky farmboy. It didn't take me long to realize I made a horrible mistake, especially once I met his family and saw where he lived. The level of what I saw as ignorance was amazing, and this was 41 years ago. The casualness of "keeping it within the family". To be open of something so damaging and taboo. To this day I cringe when I have dealings with people from Kentucky, and with my job that happens more often than I'd like. The marriage did not last and we never had kids. We had no reason to keep in contact. But even as young and stupid as I was, I knew so much of what he told me and he believed was utter and total BS. His plan was to get out of the Army and go home and raise hogs and tabacca. And now that I'm thinking of the few months we were together I feel an overwhelming need for a shower.

I had some new treats (e cig variety) a few months ago, and I noticed after I inhaled and had put it away my older cat seemed really clingy with me. Like she was alllll over me and couldn't relax. It was the weirdest thing. All I wanted to do was go to sleep, and she was in my way. She hasn't been that attentive since then,

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 7, 2018:
I like straightforwardness and honesty as I try to be. I'm a tad out of the ordinary and I am upfront about it. I'm not everyone's cup of tea and that is OK. It's not a one size fits all world. I like to know what other people value. I agree, I don't care about toys like motorcycles, cars, campers and stuff. As those things are not something I value it is not a good omen. I want a friend. I need to get along with someone fully clothed before I care to take my clothes off. I want my best buddy ever, once that is established, all else will follow naturally.

What's been the best and worst part of your week thus far?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 5, 2018:
Worst: long, long days at work. I fell horribly behind, still having software issues. And I slipped on the ice in the parking garage at work and have a nice bruise on my knee. Why, oh why is it snowing in April? Best: got a cute picture of grandbaby, and a middle daughter asked what I wanted to do for Mother's day and was enthusiastic about it.

Shoes On or Off
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 5, 2018:
In theory, yes shoes off at the door. In practice I will be meaner than hell if my feet are cold. And then getting the shoes from the door to the bedroom closet where the belong, oh wait, move the shoes to beside the door.... No space. Still thinking about it.
Teen Age Sex, the worst outcome!
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 5, 2018:
I put my girls on bcp after their periods started, partly because they had painful periods. We also discussed how babies are made. They were also restricted to dating boys in their grade so the maturity issue did not cause problems. My oldest skirted the dating restriction by dating guys she worked with that were older. But she was smarter than they were and was able to see through their BS. She did get her heart broken. The second got in trouble in other ways. The youngest seemed to pick nice guys, and in her grade. She kinda glossed over the babies talk, and her dad caught her and her guy friend in a slightly alarming situation. He asked me to have a talk with her. I asked her what she would call stupid teenagers who got carried away. She answered she'd just call them stupid teenagers. I told her most would likely call them parents. It was soooo cool to watch the light dawn in her eyes, really like seeing the snyapses connecting. She gave me my first grandchild at 25, the oldest will give me my second grandchild next month, and she's 33.

When did you find out you were suffering with anxiety/depression/ptsd/ocd?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 4, 2018:
The first time I realized I was depressed I was in Germany, 409th ASA company. I didn't need to be diagnosed, I just realized I was very not happy. Sometime after that I did see a counselor. And off an on through my life I've had periods of depression/anxiety. I've been medicated a few times.

What do you normally eat for lunch?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 4, 2018:
I eat seasonal. During the winter (non garden months) I make and freeze casseroles in individual portions, usually vegetarian and grab one to heat for lunch every day. I may also take veggies and hummus. Or I take leftovers, especially the day after I have my kids over for dinner, if they leave any left overs. During the summer I eat salads from the veggies grown in my garden, and some from the farmer's market. Again, mostly vegetarian. I snack on mixed nuts at work. I like to eat cheap and healthy.
