I would say I am highly disappointed in so called christian churches especially in the United States. When you step away from the church and the indoctrination fades away, and you begin thinking again, you realize what a load of crapola. My experience is that churches are right up there with country clubs, just usually without golf courses. Just a place to socialize with others of your class. When I started comparing what the buybull promised to what was happening in the world the cognitive dissonance was deafening. "God" won't let a sparrow fall from the sky, but there are children starving in Africa and priests raping children, and politicians molesting children and women. WTF? So no, I am not mad at god because there isn't one or any. I am a tad disappointed that I bought the crap for so long.

To me actually it says they had such a healthy upbringing they felt comfortable branching out in other directions, finding their own path. My dad's birth family was not healthy, my childhood had moments of trauma. My dad stayed nearby and perpetuated that dysfunction. I stayed away to stop the dysfunction.

Just the unknown. Looking back on it I see that my hearing loss may have created some problems with my last job. In my new job (started March) my supervisor noticed I didn't seem to understand something she said, and as she says, she's loud. So she was able to put the clues together and my office INSISTED I get my hearing tested. First they checked to see if I could get it done at the hospital. I work for a Children's Hospital. Um, no, as I am an adult they couldn't do that. So, yesterday I saw an ENT, had a test, and yes I have "not insignificant" hearing loss, or moderate. Oy vey! I was in the Army for 6 years, handled radios and weapons. So I'm also checking to see if I can get a service related disabilty. From my research the technology is really cool. I'm kinda excited.

I'd also take him to lunch when I was in his town. He'd stay at my house for Thanksgiving night, and I'd drive him to my daughter's house for the dinner. So a couple of years ago he chose to complain about my driving and a few other things by email, very condescending. I let him know he was a poor guest, never said thanks for what we did for him, and thank you I've been driving for years without your help. He told me to shove it and I haven't heard from him since. One of the sisters also noticed he never said thanks or any politeness. I used to be his emergency contact with the VA as he has no kids or SO. He ended up in the hospital and I didn't get a call.
