@darthfaja All I can speak for is my hospital. If you are not on a formal payment plan and you have not paid the balance in several months it will be looked at by collections. My billing software allows me to set up a payment plan. When that is in the account and payments are being made timely, it will not go to collections. If it is not a formal payment plan, the account is noted but a plan is not set up, it could well go to collections after 3 or so months.

@Cutiebeauty Any time you make generalizations about any group you stand the chance of being racist, or sexist, or misogynist, or any ist. Some rednecks are too dumb to even breathe and yet they do, but not all are that lacking. Some I would not trust with a hammer, or a gun. Some I would trust with my life. If we look at them all as people there will be far fewer problems. We're all people, and people are.

He has "read" that, cover to cover at least once. I did it cover to cover 3 times, and once was a chronological order reading which was fascinating. He read the bible so he could uphold the status quo. With the knowledge I had, when I stepped back from the brain washing and took a hard look at it I went WTF and that is part of the history of why I am an Atheist. He still gets his at least weekly brain washing/social reinforcement, and he is webmaster for an xian website.

My kitties go into hiding when adults come over. When the adults leave and it is just the kidlets, they will come out and interact with them. My granddaughter is now able to pet one of the kitties. She is almost three, she doesn't yet understand "go slow."

First of all, why not discuss religion? Like it or not, religion affects us all. There are laws being passed based on religion. Wars are fought over religion. People die for religion. The more we know the better prepared we are. However, this thread is not about religion, it is about hope which is not exclusive to religion. We all hope for better tomorrow, for our dreams to come true. Without hope there is little reason to get out of bed in the morning. Without hope people die.

My area had record rainfall this spring and summer, our rivers have had major flooding, roads were wiped out, small towns inundated. Several towns have been wiped off the map. Farms were flooded, planting was late if it could be planted at all. Many field are ruined due to heavy metal contamination from the flooding, top soil was washed away. Rain is good until there is too much.

I am healthy now, plan to stay that way as long as possible. Yeah, that hippie thing, I really AM. I make my own soaps, lotions, & potions. I hug trees and love the planet. I reuse, reduce, recycle. I don't even get mammograms because I believe the risk of cancer from the radiation is higher than the benefit of the mammo. My doctor is not amused and I am about to switch doctors. Yes, I work for a hospital and talk to patients/parents every day. Self editing is really hard sometimes!

@TheGreatShadow My double cousin (our moms were sisters and our dads were brothers) had a glioblastoma at age 59. A brain tumor/cancer. Life without chemo/radiation on average was about 10 to 15 months. With chemo/radiation it was 20 months. She chose the chemo/radiation and did live for 20 months. I can't say it was a great benefit to have lived longer. She had paid for private health insurance for years, she didn't have one job that provided it. She worked 3 part time jobs most of her life. The insurance covered most of the cost of treatments, but that is a damn hollow victory. It was her passing that solidified my plan never to have chemo.
