Arbejdsglaede is the Danish word for the joy that can be found in work.
HippieChick58 comments on Jan 26, 2023:
I am lucky to have found a job where I am finding arbejdsglaede. I like what I do, most of the time. And I am paid well for what I do. At one time I planned to retire as soon as I hit 65, and now I'm planning to hang around till I'm 70.

HippieChick58 comments on Jan 26, 2023:
It amazes me how anyone thinks they can criticize anyone's body. Or anything about them for that matter. Especially at a fabric store which should be a safe place for ALL women. Fabrics don't care what you look like. Being one of the larger types of women, I have had my fair share of body shaming, my dad used to call me fat. The only time I was ever slim is when I was trying to get into the Army and trying to stay in the Army. I try not to judge people on what they look like because looks really don't matter. How they act says it all, and yes, I judge like hell on how someone acts.

HippieChick58 comments on Jan 22, 2023:
I had the sweetest cat for many years. She was people bonded, she loved, loved, loved to snuggle. She wanted fulll body contact. She would sleep under the blankets with me. She passed a few weeks before my first granddaughter was born, so just over 6 years ago. I was having some work done in my house, and as soon as the work was done, I went to the human society and adopted another kitty. I now have two, and I know when I pass if I still have them my kiddoes will find good homes for them.

They also do art and all sorts of fun things. They (daughter and spouse) get kid time and happily send them back to their parents.

HippieChick58 comments on Jan 19, 2023:
I don't care what people look like, I am more interested in who they are. I don't wear makeup most of the time, and I might lighten my hair from time to time because I can and I'm a natural blond. I'm also overweight, and I acknowledge I'm not a show horse, I'm more of a plodding plow horse. If someone doesn't like what I look like I seriously reconsider my relationship to them. I wouldn't regard them as friends, as in "with friends like that..." Life is too short, I am going to put my energy into things that really matter, at least what really matters to me.

Yoga is a practice, no one is perfect at first, or even second attempt. Build into it gradually. There are lots of online resources as well. Keep it up, I think you will come to like it more, and especially with Claire as your buddy/instructor.

I am directionally challenged, and left right deficient.. Don't ever tell me north or south, and don't tell me Right or Left (pointing is better). My mother and grandmothers were all L/R confused, it likely has a genetic genetic component. However, one of my kids ALWAYS knows where she is and what direction she is facing. I'm not sure she is truly mine, except she is like my doppelganger. This kid takes her kid on walks through the streets of Utrecht, Netherlands, and always manages to get them home without Google maps. I don't go anywhere without Google Maps, even around town. Google maps tells me and shows me. I am in trouble if I'm ever out and about without Google Maps.
