Finally it was Moses and his wife Dorcas. A friend was visiting and asked how they were doing. Moses replied, "Well Dorcas and I don't agree, so she worships upstairs and I worship downstairs." You don't have to have a congregation to call yourself a minister, and for some denominations you don't have to have education or any kind of certification either.

@Amisja It comes from WAY tooooo much experience with sleepless nights. I've been meditating seriously enough to call it a practice for about 4 months. One of the things I find is if I focus on breathing, and count one for a breath in, two for out and so forth, I rarely make it to 20 before I fall asleep. That doesn't mean I stay asleep, but it is an improvement. But I'm also walking 5 miles a day and getting other exercise, I'm physically tired at bedtime. When I start working again I know that will change and hopefully the sleep issues won't get out of control again.

If you don't change something, things WILL stay the same, can you live with that? No judgement intended. Some of us are very stubborn.

@JackPedigo I do have a gas stove, so I think I'm OK. I also have kids all over the city. I'm sure we won't all be without power at once. If my power goes out I will text my kids. Worst case scenario is the one with power will be the one that lives with her dad.... However, she is also the one with the two year old child and that is worth putting up with her dad.

I search for information on them based on the name, and then try to find what other people are selling it for. If I can search the image it might save me some time, if the image search is that good. When I was growing up some of the people I knew were racist as hell, it was common. My late former inlaws were, it drove my kids batty. They were also homophobic, don't even get me started on that front. But it was not uncommon back then. My uncle was dead against interracial marriage, because black is a more dominant color. Let me tell you, with skin as pale as mine, I could use a blast of pigmentation.

On Saturday they strolled through the local thrift market and saw their stuff for sale.... And for another family, their stuff was aboard a ship in the Far East that was commandeered during a military coup. It was months before they got their stuff and they didn't get it all. Military families know lots of moving horror stories.

If they got lost they were to attach themselves to a tree. They could use the trashbag as a raincoat if needed. They were to blow on the whistle from time to time, and try to find the sun and reflect it off the mirror. We never got to test it out, we never lost a kid.

@Stephanie99 I live in Omaha, NE. It's a good size city but not huge. Gem buyers travel to exotic places fairly frequently, being here in the middle of the US makes travel much more complicated. And we don't have the population to support that kind of business. For me, when someone says they're a gem buyer and live in Omaha, all I can say is dream on.

At my last job, I was working with my senior, she typed up an email and it was fine, but I pointed out she was using "soft" language, sort of an "If you don't mind" message. I pointed out she was a spokesman for the company, the information was expected from that person and needed for us to do our jobs for the benefit of her employee, it was not negotiable that the information be sent. I suggested she keep it friendly but more to the point and less hesitant. I am in my 60s, this young woman in her 30s. Women are conditioned to be soft, told to be nice. You have to be aware of what you're doing before you can change it. Many women are unaware of how they come across.

@josh_karpf Way back when, early 90s Chick fil A was pretty good. We lived in Hampton, VA and used to eat it pretty frequently. Then we moved, and moved, and moved. Chick Fil A is now in Omaha. And because I was close by, and I was hungry, and I hadn't tried in in over 20 years I decided to check it out. It has not aged well. The food not as good as I remembered. With their political stance I have put them on my list of places to avoid, and I have no regrets in doing so.

January 13, 2021 My newest and smallest grandchild. She arrived 5 weeks early and is now 2.5 weeks old and is less than 7 pounds. I've never held such a small baby before. She is quite perfect and very amazing. I love being a Grammy.
