One of my kids gave me and her dad subscriptions to "StoryWorth" for Christmas in 2020. Essentially every week we got a question about our childhood to answer, and they go into a book for our children and grandchildren. I answered all my questions. Their dad claimed he was "too busy", he is retired and only works on his hobby, a xian website hymnal. (And this is why I am divorced.) Daughter was not pleased with her dad. Daughter and I had a great time looking through tons of photographs for the books. I also made sure daughter had copies of all my pictures from my childhood, already digitized. Dad carted over about 10 large boxes of slides... The grands (well, the older ones, 5.5 and 4, the other two are 18 months and newborn) love to look at pictures of their moms and aunts when they were younger. I doubt if I have any pictures of my dad with my girls, my dad and stepmother were not people I wanted around my kids for very long. My mom passed when she was 45, I was 14. She would have been the most amazing grandmother. My kids have things that I have made for them, and more things I'm making for their kids all the time. Oldest G'daughter has asked for a quilted wallhanging to be made for her bedroom. I have some seasonal wallhangings in my house and she wants one the same size. So I have a new project, and I am choosing fabrics that aren't too "little girl" so it will be appropriate for her as she gets older.

My first New Years day on the site I unblocked everyone from the year before. That lasted about 10 days tops. Usually if I block someone they're obnoxious or annoying, and I don't have time or bandwidth for that crap. Many that I originally blocked are no longer on the site, but many are. I haven't blocked anyone in months, but my blocked users list is currently around 20. It ain't stupid, peace of mind is priceless. Some of my currently blocked members are on FB, and I get a friend suggestion for them once in a while, and that is a "oh hell no".

6 years active duty Army, I entered the Army as a WAC, and I was also ASA. That and my mom died when I was 14, my dad remarried the stepwitch from hell, which prompted my decision to get the hell out of his house. He or they would not let me go to college because dad would have to sign the papers and he was not going to be financially responsible for me. He still had to sign papers for me to go active duty, but as I had two brothers who were active duty he'd have been on shaky ground refusing. The Army helped me find a great big world beyond my small midwestern town.

I expect more women to try to get IUDs. My youngest just had a baby and will be getting an IUD placed as soon as possible. I told my daughters ages ago to protect themselves, and they got on the pill or other birth control as soon as they wanted. The only reason I knew was because I had to take them to the MD. I work for a financial institution, luckily it is all remote and call center, so I never have to look at these people. I had a caller yesterday who was overdrawn, but it was our fault! He was in his 40s, and by his voice I'd guess white. He has a history of being overdrawn. How fricking entitled can you be? He did get his account paid up and active again, but OMG, he was unpleasant about it.

I have some baggies in my car that have some personal cleansing cloths, a pair of tube sox, a $5 bill, and some other small items I used to give out to folks panhandling on the side of the road. I still have some of those in my car where I can reach them from the driver's seat. When I was near Ft. Lewis (about 28 years ago) I used to see a guy with a large sign just off the I5 exit near Ft. Lewis/Mchord AFB that was asking for money. Kid was sick and we ended up taking that exit multiple times in a month or so, I'd see the same sign held by different guys. I notice patterns, and totally identical sign. They must be organized somehow.
